Campground near Santas workshop?

http://www.northpoleny.com/page.cfm?page=Campsites

Think we are headed to Santas' worshop. I remember going when I was a kid!. Thoughts on a campground nearby? I was leaning towards the KOA from their webpage.

The KOA in Wilmington NY is probably one of our favorite campgrounds. It's quiet and clean. They have one of the nicest office/lodge We've seen. It's two story and has a deck that wraps around. You can grab a chair, sit back and look up Whiteface Mt.

I would suggest you wait until at least mid-May though.

Sorry, was thinking of going in July and then a stop at Cooperstown for the hall of fame.

Probably no better choice than the KOA in Wilmington.

It's not only close to Santa's Workshop, but the Ausable Chasm and several other great attractions.

Santa's Workshop is right near the road up to Whiteface. Save yourself plenty of time to drive up to the top and walk the trail up there. It's a short walk, but the sights are not to be missed.

However, I do not recommend the restaurant in the Castle on Whiteface. We were there just two years ago, and the food was not good. There are several good places to eat down on Route 86.
