Comments:
This state park is great if you're a mountain biker, and it's trails are known for that. The restaurant was surprisingly good and cheap. We stayed in the White Oak loop where the sites are shaded and sizeable. If you're in the loop down by the lake the sites are right on top of one another. The bathrooms were the dirtiest I've ever experienced - mold in the shower was actually fuzzy. But if you don't use their bathrooms it's a pretty park with nice hiking. Clifton Forge has a nice local artisans' shop, and a train museum that are both worth a stop.

Douthat State Park

Supprised and somewhat disapointed that the restrooms where so poorly maintained. I always like to go to Douthat because my dog can swim in the lake. Not in the people swiming area of course.

We go to Douthat SP at least once if not twice a year. Not always in our TT but saying in cabins.
This is an okay park...but you have to make reservations way way in advance. Also some of the sites are hard to get into. You can not reserve a certain site..first come first serve. Even know you have reservations.
