Agree with MackC-85, I was hosting an Open Roads Singles MnG at American Heritage RV Park last spring, think it was April. Though the pool was not open, the park meet our expectations, and it was not all that far from any of the attractions or stores if you needed one.

When we decide to visit Williamsburg, this is the ONLY campground I will consider.

I forget the name of the one that has the train running within about 10' of the rear of your rig. It might be Anvil, but I'm not sure.

Yes, that's Anvil. It has Route 60 (The main east-west road for Williamsburg) and the train tracks on one side and Moorestown Road on the other. The campground is only four sites wide. So you can either have the RR in your back door on one side, Moorestown Road on the other, or squeeze in the middle of the loop!! Didn't take long on Google maps to rule this one out!!!!

For truth in advertising......You can hear the trains from American Heritage, but they are approximately 1/2 mile away.

Yeah, you could hear the train "if" your just sitting out chillin, but it's not really a big issue. Probably hear it less than we did as the trees were pretty bare when I was there.

HUM, when can I get back there ?????????

Thanks for the review of Herritage. Its the only camp ground in Williamsbrug I have not camped at. This last week end I was camped with some folks from the area and I happened to mention how poor the campgrounds are in the Williamsbrug area, manly the 2 KOA's and the pottery factory campground, and one of the folks I was with highly recomended American Heritage RV Park as by far the best in the area. As for the railroad its like the trains are going right through your caper at Anvil.

Overall we really liked the campground. Backing into our site was very, very tight, especially since we were surrounded by Class A's who were at the very edges of their own sites. I definitely would only do a pull through there again w/ my 30 ft trailer.

Campground was EXTREMELY quiet, yes you can hear the train, but that is about it.

It is situated in a nice area, easy to get to the many Williamsburg area attractions.

Farm Fresh grocery store is about 1/2 mile away too - very nice.
