Shawnee State Park is 10 miles west of Bedford, and 17 miles east of Flight 93 Memorial.

We decided to try Shawnee for a long weekend, It looked easy to get to from home, and its near the Flight 93 Memorial. The park itself is nice, but what we enjoyed most was the visit to the memorial. It's worth a stop if you're in the area and its a nice day. (No shade there, so a cool day is best) Theres also an interesting log church on Rt. 30 you can tour just west of Schellsburg.
In the park, the trail around the lake is nice to bike.
The lake seemed stagnant and not something I'd swim in, but kids were swimming.
The campground is huge and laid out really strangely. Sites arent very private, but they're large enough.
The bathrooms were dirty to the point that Steve went there for a shower and came back and showered in the trailer!
There are some nice geocaches in the park and the surrounding area.
There's a nice playground for the kids.
I wish we'd known about it.
