We were here for the KTA SuperHike trail race. We stayed in the section of the campground on the Pequea Creek. I would NEVER stay in the section up on the hill - the roads are too steep and winding. We drove up there to try to get cell phone service and I couldn't even see over the top of the hill from the front seat of the truck. (kind of like the wild mouse ride at a carnaval!) There are mostly seasonal sites up here anyway.
- Sites are spaced well and have water and electric hookups.
- rate $32/night (event rate discount made it $25)
- no showers in this section, only toilets which we didn't use
- playground for kids
- some sites back up to the Pequea Creek which is good for kayaking and tubing. The campground has a boat launch.
- some road noise
I would only go here for an event (like the hike) or to go kayaking / tubing because it is difficult to get to. You have to avoid a covered bridge with a 5 ton weight limit, and an 11 foot height limit. We lucked out and missed the turn in their directions onto River Rd. (which is horrible). I don't know what you'd do if you met another RV because it's only 1 1/2 RVs wide and a cliff on one side and a drop off on the other. (we took it on the way out) All that said, once you get there it's nice, and we do want to go sometime to kayak

We took 324 S to the end at the Susquehanna River, then left onto Bridge Valley Rd., then left onto Fox Hollow, and left onto the campground lane. Adds about 2 miles over taking River Rd. but IMO a safer route.
