Personal Comments: Pads range from 18' to 68' in length. Pretty tight in places for trying to back in. I had two trees just wide enough for my slide (check pictures). This is a trout lake so you have a lot of fishermen, fisherwomen............fisherpeople . It is an electric motor only lake and you see many canoes and kayaks. We had an Osprey nesting up on the hill and we watched him tote fish out of the lake. There is a paved trail all the way around the lake and woodland trails to explore. Would recommend and will definately camp here again. Site 34 or 37 seemed to be the best for lakeside views.

Some pictures to share:

Site # 37

I had to measure to make sure the slide was going to fit.........Sue did an excellent job positioning me

This was our lake view

Plenty of nice woodland trails

Where we found Lady Slippers

And Chase got to enjoy the view also

Looks great! I just made reservations for a weekend in August. Are the door to door direcitons they give correct? They look awfully confusing. Is there a sign for where to turn off of 61?

Pam,
Sue has her navigational notes in the truck. I will post these tomorrow. It's not too difficult to find but one of the roads is very curvy. I'll fill you in tomorrow evening................Marshall

Personal Comments: We enjoyed our stay, but wished we could have stayed during the week when everyone cleared out. This campground is VERY busy on summer weekends. Our site #61 was really strange. We had a small area on the door side of the trailer where we could sit, basically right by the road, and see the lake. Our picnic table and fire ring were behind the trailer, which was totally awkward. BUT, we met alot of really nice people by sitting right by the road Be aware that the dog sites in the lower numbered loop (#27-35?) are right on the very busy walking / bicycle path, so if you have a dog like ours that's just not going to go too well. He would have been barking constantly. Our goofy site ended up working quite nicely for us - with the layout of the 2753 we had a great lake view out of our dinette window.

I have stayed here many times.I have stayed in that site(#61),yes very strange layout.I would not stay in that site but it was the last one avail.I have stayed at sites #'s64,65 and 67.They are ok but a little more room between the sites would be ok If you have pets. This is a very nice park but you must book you trip way in advance.

Love this campground

Locust Lake is one of our favorite campgrounds. We have camped there in tents and popup for a long time. We just purchased a T-2475 and hope to camp there this fall with our new trailer. Does anyone have a favorite site for a trailer?

You don't say if you have a pet, but if you do, we thought site #60 was the best one in the pet area.

Both

Thanks for the reply. Sometimes we travel with our dog and other times without him so it didn't really matter. We are rebuilding our camping files now that we upgraded from a pop-up.

The problem with recommending a certain site as the "best" site is that everyone has a different definition. Site 60 has a lovely view of the lake from the door side, and no neighbors real close by, BUT it is about as far from the bathroom as you can get, and there is a path down to the bike trail along side the site. The person who was in that site while we were there parked their truck in front of the path - problem cleverly solved There were quite a few people checking out what site they wanted for their next trip to Locust Lake, and several stopped and commented on it being a nice one.
