Personal Comments:
We went here for our first QUE-trip because it's close. It's a nice spot if you have little kids and want to be able to walk to Dutch Wonderland. (which is a great amusement park for age 2-7) We had a nice site overlooking the stream and Amish farmland, but had we been back a row I would have felt like I was camping in a treed grass parking lot. It's very crowded here. It's almost always nearly full. It sits down an incline from Rt. 30, so you don't hear the traffic noise at all. The outlets and all that other touristy Lancaster stuff is right there, so it's very convenient as a home base for all that. Not a place to set a spell and enjoy nature though.

Most of the sites here are T shaped which can be a real bear to get into depending on what size unit is in the other half of the tee. In the 600 area many of the sites have been cut into the hillside which limits "cheating" off the site to manuver. One visit in this area we had our T276 backed in tight to the bank and when we returned from dinner a Class "C" was parked in the other half of the Tee. They were in the process of pitching a tent in between the units (actually were tying a guyline to our a-frame), I guess they got the idea that it wasn't a good idea when I parked the grille of "MACK" against the side of tent!!

Anyhow, the point being is I'm pretty good at backing the trailer in, but if that Class "C" had been there when I arrived, at best our trailer would have been on a angle.

They just redid the whole west side of the campground, adding sewer hookups, and reconfiguring those into pull throughs and back-ins. The east side is still Ts. We had no trouble backing into the T with our short little QUE, but I did wonder how the heck those nose to nose diesel pushers were going to get out.

They converted the lower two rows on the west side last winter and are planning to do the rest of it this winter. We stayed on the west side over Memorial Day, and the upper two rows are still tees. Fortunately, that site had a small p/u in the other side and a large flat area to cheat off of!!

We love the park, mainly because our 6 & 7 year olds are into Dutch Wonderland!!

We were camped at Old Mill Stream Campground last weekend (19-22 Nov) and it was anounced that Dutch Wonderland and the campground were sold to Palace Entertainment of California, by Hersey Entertainment and Resorts.

Dutch Wonderland changes hands - LancasterOnline.com Business

The folks in the office were very upbeat about the change, they feel that the new owners will give more control to the local management than Hershey did. I guess when your 3000 miles away instead of 30 you would have to depend more on the local managers!!!

Palace also owns Kennywood, Idelwild, and Sandcastle Parks in PA.

We were in Lancaster last Saturday for the Christmas Show at American Music Theater and drove through Old Mill Stream Campground. It didn't take long for the new owners to make some changes, they are converting more of the tee sites to angled back-ins.

Thank goodness! Those T sites are silly. We were there first weekend of Nov. in a T. Luckily our T partner was considerate and asked us ahead of time to move the truck so he could get out at 5:00 a.m. the next morning. We were on our side, but they way they're set up makes it really difficult to get in and out with both sides of the T occupied. I'm anxious to do a drive through.

I hope by "drive through" you mean to drive through the park, because they don't look like they are going to be drive through sites, just angled back-ins. The angled back-ins they've done already are pretty nice. We were on one of those the weekend before Thanksgiving.
