Morris Meadows Campgroung-Freeland, Maryland
My family camped at Morris Meadows this past weekend as a joint camping/have a place to stay near our daughter's dance company workshop weekend. We found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. The grounds are well maintained, the bath house we went to near the pool (closed for winter) was clean and well equipped. The main roads were paved (unusual for a private CG) and just about every site has W/S&E. They have a playground with sand volleyball court, miniature golf, game room, baseball field. The site we stayed at had something unusual-each site in this section (although very close to one another) had a shelter with a picnic table and an o/h light and a shelf w/electric outlet for a TV. Many sites are out in the open but there were also many under the trees. There is a farm museum which they give guided tours at specified times. Due to our daughter's schedule, we did not go to the museum, but judging from the pictures in the brochure and all the artifacts on display in the lounge next to the registration office, they've got alot of old stuff! My wife and I did manage to find time on Sat and Sunday to bike the Northern Central rail trail. It is only 2 miles away from the cg and is a hard-packed dirt trail that runs 20 miles from Hunt Valley to the PA line. The Hertige trail picks up from there and runs another 21 miles in PA.
We'd recommend this place for sure.
