Owner's Manual Desperately Needed

We just bought a 2000 Sunline Solaris T-260 SR. We bought it from someone who bought it as a bank owned. It has no manuals and we are pretty lost. We've downloaded some info from this site but it won't let us download a manual. We are willing to pay for a copy of someone's manual. We do love the trailer and are looking forward to spring (we live in west Michigan). But it would be nice if we knew how everything worked.

Hi Pat & Chuck.....what will be suggested is you make a list of all the appliance and model numbers and then download those to "make" a manual.....The manual supplied by Sunline was very generic and not specific to each model.

If you don't know or can't find a specific item...post here, someone will jump in and let you know what it is or what they think it might be.

I can tell you that we do have a manual and most times I'll research on line and then download that into what I have separated as appliance, exterior items, wheels- tires - axles, etc.

Good luck and remember to ask if you have any questions...and by the way welcome to the wonderful world of Sunlines and the SOC !!!!

Also, if the SOC system "won't let you download a manual" it would be helpful for us to know which one and whatever error message the system gave you when it did that.

I can tell you that the SOC software is set up to only allow so many downloads in rapid succession. What it would not let you have an hour ago can probably be downloaded now.

As Poppy & Nana said, and has been posted here a number of times before and is now posted in the FAQ section is pretty simple. Sunline never really pulled together much of a manual. It was one of their only weaknesses.

What is available here in the files section and in the message threads is far, far, more than could ever be put in a manual. In effect, SOC is now the (nearly) complete and comprehensive manual on Sunlines. You just can't get it in on download session.

If you browse through the various sub-forums you will find plenty of answers and information.

I have the original manual for my new-to-me Sunline 2653. It is a 3-ring binder with installation instuctions, operating instructions and parts lists for the installed appliances. There is no model-specific info in the manual, as the post from "Poppy and Nana" stated.

So... you can rest easy. Once you have accumulated the info on your appliances, put it in a 3-ring binder divided into: safety, appliances, water systems, exterior components (as my original is), label the front "Sunline Owner's Booklet" and you have a manual.

No charge,
Teach

As Teach suggests, building your own manual is the way to go. Even though I have the original Sunline manual, I have nearly doubled it in size by adding info found here on SOC.

To help folks get started, I recreated the Appliance Identification List that Sunline used to summarize all the items installed in the trailers. If you download and print it out, you can build the list specifically for your trailer.

If you have a problem identifying something, post a pic and we'll all give you a hand.

Here a short link to the file: Sunline Coach Owner's Club - Sunline Owner's Files - Sunline Appliance Identification List (It may take a day or so for it to get approved so if you can not download it today, 12/28/2010, it will likely be available tomorrow.)

The Appliance Identification List has been approved and can be found under Sunline Owners Manuals in the Files section.

If you can gather most of the info at the link in my signature, I can custom craft a manual for you. I doubt you'll have an appliance ID because it would have been in the book, but after seeing one, you can know the information to look for.

I'll need the VIN, build date, RVIA Seal number, interior color, all of the appliance info listed above, and detaled pictures of the coach if you have them so I could identify any installed options. The end result will be a PDF manual that looks much like the original.

Hi Pat and Chuck

Welcome to Sunline Owners Club. Glad you found us and glad to have you with us.

As everyone has said the manuals are semi generic. And the appliances used the manufactures manuals that can all be found on like like Atwood Mobile for the HW heater and Furnace etc.

If you get stuck, ask away there are many of us been thru this before.

However we do have a 2005 Sunline generic manual that went with a slide camper in the files section. Did you see this one? PTHutch scanned his in for us.
Sunline Coach Owner's Club - Sunline Owner's Files - 2005 Sunline Owners Booklet

Hope this helps and ask away for anything you cannot come up with.

John

PS also did you see the Files tab at the top of the forum? Stored there is a lot of this kind of info. See here

Thanks to all of you for your help. I have tried to download the owners manual but there must be some problem between my computer and the site. I waited 2 days last time and requested to download only the 2005 owners manual and I still got the wait 56 seconds between downloads message.

Anyway the immediate problem is that when we looked at the trailer on the lot everything worked, lights, microwave, radio, etc. Now that we've got it home and plugged in nothing will turn on. A neighbor who's an electrician is coming over tomorrow to try to help. I know it is something terribly simple but we haven't a clue.
Thanks again, Pat & Chuck

The trailer is 110vac 30amp service. That three prong RV connector on the end of the shore line looks a bit like some of the 220 vac plugs but it is not. If there is even the remotest possibility that it has accidentally been plugged into 220, your electrician friend needs this info up front.

Also, if you plugged it into a regular 110 vac 15 amp circuit at your home, it may well have just tripped the breaker.

There should be a power panel somewhere inside usually down low near the floor. It will look something like this when closed:

Part of the front panel is held in place with a little plastic latch. When you open it, there are some 12 vdc fuses and some 110vac circuit breakers. Everything should be labeled in there. That may help find the cause.

Keep in mind that some of the circuits in the trailer are strictly 110 vac like the microwave and regular outlets. Others are strictly 12vdc like all of the lighting, the radio, the control circuits for the furnace, hot water heater, refrigerator, and more. The fridge should run on either 110vac or propane, but needs 12vdc when on propane.

I put a copy of that manual here for you: http://www.frontiernet.net/~gmshubert/2005 Sunline Manual.pdf It is 3.36 meg so it may take a few to download depending on your connection. Please let me know when you have downloaded it so I can remove it from our personal web space.

Oh, one more important thing. If there is no battery installed in the trailer, it is possible that some of the appliances and all of the lights will not work.

Sunlines newer than mine have a battery cut-off switch located out in the area of the A-frame. If it is off, it will have the same effect as not having a battery at all.
