Looking for a 17 1/2SB
No leakers please. Must be in VG condition. Closer to N.C. the better.

Hmm, that's a tough one. To find a non-leaking 1976-82 17 1/2' SB will be almost impossible. Make sure to let us know if you find one, it certainly would be one of the nicest out there. Quite a few may not be leaking at the moment, but they may have to some degree in the past and have been resealed.

I agree that's going to be a tough bill to fill, especially near NC. There are still quite a few old Sunlines hanging around our area though. I would suggest using the Reading, PA Craigslist since the factory was located near there. Here's one that looks about right that popped up when I did that search. Alot of times owners don't use the exact model number when posting, so you kind of have to try to figure it out by the window configuration.

Thanks Tweety
I think I narrowed my search too much. I bought a new 17 1/2SB in 77' and loved it. What I should have asked for was one 17'-18' similar to it. I missed a nice 92' T1740 on Ebay earlier. That's ok, I am not in a hurry and sooner or later the one with my name on it will pop up.

If you have a VIN on any leftover paperwork, I can put it in the registry and if I ever see it come up, I will let you know.
Based on what I've seen, I have to say something in the '77-'83 will be relatively hard to find, particularly '77-'80. The later ones are more common and easier to find now.
Do you happen to have any pictures of your '77?

Be very careful when buying a used TT. We really got taken on our Sunline 1550. The man who sold it to us was a liar beyond belief. We were on the green side and got ripped off like you wouldn't believe. He said the roof didn't leak. It didn't but there was a bad leak at one of the upper outside reflectors. The rain leaked into the storage space above the table. That had to be repaired. The water pump was about dead and had to be replaced. It needed a new battery and the thing that charges it. The black water tank was badly broken and cost $500 to replace. Yes... $500.00! He said the replacement over-the-stove fan was there but it wasn't. We had to buy a new one. And from somewhere under the sink and stove unit came a sour cheesy smell we couldn't get rid of. The more humid it was the stronger the stink became. We never found the source of the smell. The blinds he put in were too long and half of them didn't work. We threw them out and it cost about $50 for material to make new ones. Some of the round window cranks were broken and sharp edged and had to be replaced. It turned in to a money pit. That's not to say we didn't have many fun trips with "Stinky." We did need something a little larger. The bed was too narrow for 2 adults and my husband snores. So he would sleep in the van and I was alone in the Sunline. We couldn't find a larger used Sunline locally with beds at both ends. There was no way, after being so badly ripped off the first time, that we'd even consider buying one we couldn't see and thoroughly examine. We knew better the second time around and knew what to look for. We then decided to just buy a brand new TT. We found a nice spanking new Crossroads Zinger for a good price with a bed at each end. No bad smells, nothing worn out and needing replacement. And my snoring husband (trust me he's loud) can sleep in the RV rather than in the van. My husband, against my wishes, sold it at a real loss on Graigslist.

I think you can get taken with a lemon on just about anything you buy - but the more expensive the item the higher the chance someone will lie.
When we were looking for our trailer we had decided we wanted a Sunline. We found a used one being sold by an army wife on a local base. It looked GREAT! Till I went and stood in front of the bathroom sink and my foot almost went through the floor.
She wasn't planning to tell me about the rotten floor - in fact she acted like it was a surpise to her. Yea - right.
But we did find the perfect used unit. Everything in excellent working order. Of course the 1st owner only had it for a few months .

1978 17-1/2SB Sunline listed in New Hampshire Craigslist, dated 12 Dec 2010. Location is Londonderry, next town south of Manchester. No photos with ad, they are asking 1800.00. Says no leaks, solid flooring, needs water pump.
