Hi Brenda

Do you need the entire HW heater or a part of it? Reason asking is you can get many parts for just about anything with some digging. A new tank is about $160 plus freight. And the controls are all available as well.

But then there is price too, depending on if you want the older gas valve manual system a new one is around $279 plus freight or $379 plus freight for an electric start

I know there are some used RV parts places too where they sell you an entire used old appliance. I can't seem to find that one we talked about on here now about a year ago.

Do you want the entire thing or just a part? Again your in the cost of new verses old and what does old do for you decision process. If your tank is in good shape then the controls are not that bad pending what you need.

Hope this helps but I can't find that link to the used parts place right now. I'll dig some more

Thanks

John

Hi John!
It's the standard pilot water heater. The tank is blown the previous owner didnt know to winterize the first year they owned it and blew the tank. My hi ubby is a plumbing/heat guy, so he has bypassed it for now. Our local rv store has a new one for 404.00, but that's a little steep for us. They have a replacement tank for 160.00 , but they told my hubby that usually other pieces break while replacing the tank so we would be better off new...

I thought I would put the word out anyway. Thanks!

Hi Brenda

Search the web. You can for sure find a brand new one that is gas pilot only for a lot less then $404.

If hubby is a plumber then if you do go new he can upgrade to the newer direct spark unit and add an electric element if wanted.

Good luck

John

I had to replace my tank for the same reason, PO didn't winterize!

The only hard part is removing the rings that hold the tank to the rest of the heater and when assembling it, putting the new ones on. A plumber should have no problem replacing the tank without "breaking other things".
