Hi,

Can you post the model number of your fridge? And I am assuming you mean the metal louvered vent cover in the side of the camper, it would be by the bottom of the fridge outside.

I am not sure exactly which metal vent your 83 used. I found some older vintage ones, but I'm not sure they are the ones for your camper.

It would help if you can post a picture of the old one if it exists and or what is left in the side of the camper. Many have a frame that is screwed to the camper in the rough wood opening. Then the cover fits in the frame. You may have to buy the entire frame and cover, but it would solve the problem. And some of the older ones, just screwed to the side of the camper, but not sure Sunline used that type.

And it would help if you could put a tape measure in the pic so we can see the size of the access cover in both width and height, that helps too.

We can help you look, but we need more info.

There are 3 ways to add pics.

1. Upload pics to a specific post attaching them at the end of the post.

2. Linking them in from a public viewable web photo hosting service you have.

See here for 1 and 2 https://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f...html#post86041

3. You can upload pics to the forum in your own personal photo album. Then link them to anywhere in the text of a post. See here on how to create an album. https://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f...html#post87945

If you still get stuck, let us know. Pic's go a long way in helping show things you are working on.

Hope this helps

John

Thank you John for the quick response and details. how ever I have come to find that Iwas mistaken about what the cover was for. It is actually the vent for the furnace which is directly beneath the equipment box for the fridge. It is 13 3/4 by 9 3/4 inches and is louvered on the outside with adjustable louvers behind much like a floor register in a house with hot air heat.

Hi wayneadk,,

OK, the furnace cover, that is different.

Your description now sounds like this vent cover is now inside the camper. When you where talking fridge vent cover, they are outside the camper both are very different things.

In this case, we really need a picture to help better. You also mentioned adjustable louvers and that is a cause to ask more about. While some RV's have heat ducts with directional louvers so the air blows or draws in air a certain direction, they should not close off like a house register can. In the camper, closing off a heat duct means the furnace cannot force enough heat out which can be a problem or draw in enough air.

The 83 T1950 calls out a ducted heat system. Any with the dimensions of what you are looking for, something that big it could be more like an air intake louver for the furnace verses a heat discharge louver, that and being under the fridge as the furnace should be under the fridge too, correct?. While I have seen several newer T1950's, the floor plan changed some since 1983.

Show us some pics of the vent you want and the furnace itself if possible. There is also the possibility a prior owner changed something from original. And if by chance, you have the model number of the furnace that helps too.

Hope this helps

John

That appears to be the return air grill for the furnace. Not sure about the adjustable damper on the side. Most of the newer furnaces do not have a damper on the air intake. Also, what you have may not be the Sunline original.

You need to search under "louvered air return grilles" as a place to start.

Not knowing the size you have, here are a few choices.

Hope this helps and let us know how you make out.
