195sr

Since these are kind of rare, I thought I'd post it here. It's at Stoltzfus in Adamstown for only $9000. I can tell you from experience that when they clean up a used unit it's like new when they're done!

Yes, Lee confirmed to me yesterday that it was John & Alice's, as I suspected. It's #7474, the last known 195SR to roll off the line.

Hey if I buy this one, I could own the first and last 195SR to be made. There are some little things I like about it more than mine. But I see there are some things on mine I like more as well.

Thats a great price for a great camper.

Too bad that they are so far away but 1000 miles to check out a trailer is out of the question. We have a T 1950 and would really like to move up to the 195sr. Just a little more room would be great but is it worth the extra weight especially tongue weight. Has anyone done a side by side comparison of the 1950 and the 195sr? Weight, length, etc. It is hard to find any specs on the 195sr. Can the 195sr be pulled with a heavy duty Ford 1/2 ton with a 5.4 engine and 3.73 rear end. I spotted the 195sr on RVtrader online and emailed Stoltzfus but never received a response. I see they finally added pictures.

I'd just e-mail Lee directly: LEEVOUGHT at STOLTZFUSRVS dot COM

Tell him Jon and Bonnie from SunlineClub sent you...

Happy to check it out for you if you're interested....this dealer is in my backyard. But honestly Sunline is so popular around here that it'll probably sell before you could get here...especially at that price.

To help the cause, I weighed a T195SR for tongue weight at Buttonwood a few years ago. 790# was that couples loaded tongue weight. That fits in a 1/2 ton PU truck range with a good WD hitch adjusted correct.

Towing a 195SR

Hi All,

You can definately tow the 195SR with your truck. I towed mine with a 2003 Toyota 4-Runner V8 with a tow rating of 7000 lbs.
We towed our camper over 8000 miles with that set up and went 400 miles down the Blueridge Parkway and reached elevations of 6000 feet. Up and down hills and lots of curves. We used the Equalizer brand weight destribution hitch with 1200 lb bars.
I now have a 2012 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab with Z71 package and tow rating of 9500 lbs. The longer wheel base, more horsepower and 6 speed transmission make towing a lot easier.
The T195SR weighs about 1000 lbs more than the T1950. but the extra weight is worth it for the room you get with the slide and extra counter space. You also get a larger awning and two extra windows in the slide.
When we bought our camper new at the Pittsburgh RV show they had a T1950 and a T195SR side by side. We spent about 3 hours going back and forth between the two campers looking at the differences before we decided on the T195SR.
That is a great price on the camper. The list price on the T195Sr was just over 24,000 dollars in 2007.

Hi,
I'm John from John and Alice. We owned this camper and loved it! I towed it with a 2005 Toyota Tacoma pick-up without the tow package. I added an after marked transmission oil cooler. That's all I did. It towed fine and we went up and down mountains with no problem. I never won races but it worked fine. I used a weight distribution hitch. We needed a larger trailer with a bit more room. I would have loved to get Sunline 286SR but we just cant' get into a larger tow vehicle right now. The Tacoma is at it's limit.

So John, what did you get in place of it?

We got a new Forest River Surveyor http://www.forestriverinc.com/nd/def...=SurveyorSport

I would have preferred to get a Sunline 286sr like you guys have BUT, we can't tow it. We can, however tow this Surveyor. it's 29 feet and has the bedroom in the front and a big bathroom in the back. it's great for Alice and me and our dog. I'm hoping it will hold up. We plan to take it to the Lehigh Valley gorge to ride the rail trail this year. We really like the storage space on the inside too.

This is suppose to be a picture of the inside of the camper but I don't think I know what I'm doing.

Okay, I'm confused. I thought the picture was supposed to be the inside of your new Forest River. What I see is a picture from your photo album of a dog inside the Sunline with no bike in sight.
