Sunline Parts Needed

Hello, the previous owner pulled away with the electric plugged in and tore that part of the exterior. I am looking for that entire piece. Or a lead on where I can get a new piece to replace that piece.

Hi Neighbor! If you get a close up picture of the aluminum, one of the folks here can tell you what style it is and where you can buy a piece on line. I'm not sure which thread it is in but I know I saw a web page with a bunch of options. Actually, take a few pictures so we can see what you see.

You'll have a really tough time finding aluminum, and would probably have to have it custom crimped. You'd also be looking at needing to have decals replicated for it, which will also be very expensive.

I think you'd be better off getting a couple 1" wide aluminum strips, one behind and one in front of the cracks. Lather up some putty tape on both pieces and sandwich them in on both the front and back of the siding crack. Then either screw or pop rivet the pieces together, through the siding. Make sure the texture of the siding is filled with putty tape, this may mean piecing in some small pieces to level it out before putting the front piece on. This should seal the area tightly. Then just paint the aluminum strips to match the siding.

Another option, since this isn't structural at all, could be to get some JB Weld Steel Stick, and make a couple pieces to fill in the gap tightly. Push it into the cracks and smooth it out until it sets up. You may want to put masking tape around the general area around the cracks because the JB Weld can be messy- make sure to wear gloves when you use it too. Then you should be able to paint it to match later on too.

Here's your hatch. In polar white, but this can be painted to match too:

Basic Cable Hatch, Flat Sided, Polar White - RV Designer B140 - Electrical Hatches & Outlets - Camping World

And since you'll have found paint to match, you can give that hot water heater door some love too!

...... I'm not worried about decals. I have a machine and I can recreate my own decals in oracle vinyl if I really need them. I want the integrity of the camper repaired.

Thank you for the link to the cap.

If you're serious about wanting to replace that whole piece of aluminum, Tim Heintz of Heintz Designs in Florida can crimp any aluminum you want.

I "think" the year 2000 campers were still on Hehr windows.

Pellandent reps both Hehr and Kinro windows, Kinro was what Sunline used after they switched from Hehr.

See here. You may have to call them to get just the rock guard cover but they would be where I would start. I have bought from them in the past and had a good experience and good phone service. https://www.pellandent.com/RV-WIndow...ote-Hehr-Kinro

Let us know how you make out

John

mexico94,

Mainah's post about the junk yard is a good one and has sparked a thought I forgot to mention. The fenders are made from ABS plastic and are repairable depending on how bad they are.

I have repaired several ABS parts that are cracked in half, cracked apart in multiple places, or the screw holes are cracked out. The materials to fix several fenders only costs approx $20 to $25 and about 1.5 to 2 hrs accumulated each.

When my T310SR had a tire blow out and destroyed the fender, and I lost 4 feet of it along the highway, that large a failure was not fixable. ICON solved that problem with a new one, but they do cost much.

If repairing is something you want to try, let us know. We have a post on it but I can updated it on some recent fixes.

John
