Not so much about how it would look, more like how it could easily blow off. There's a lot of back pressure blowing back on the cover when on the road, so it could slide off. Happened to us years ago, the dealer put their own tire cover on the spare and it was one size larger, and it blew off on our first or second trip.
Our Sunline cover blew off once. After that we put grommets in it and use a short bungee cord and it hasn’t happened again.

Yeah, that happens when the elastic dries up. I should probably do that to the one on my '07 before the next time I tow it.

They also die in another format. The sun dries up the elastic and shrinks the cover onto the tire like shrink wrap. It is now so shrunk on tite and the elastic is now so , non-elastic, you have to about destroy it getting it off the tire.

If one treats a new tire cover with 303 aerospace UV protectant routinely, even once is better than none, the life span extends dramatically.

My 2004 T1950 (made in Sept 2003) had a cover on it still somewhat intact (during mid 2016) over the top of a 2003 Maxxis tire that looked brand new. The cover turned into total shreds trying to get the cover off just so I could take the tire off the spare holder.

Egad! Can’t imagine what a mess that would be to remove.

Here is a pic of cover and the bag label. Never used. If I remember correctly, a member here threw it in as part if a larger purchase. If I remember incorrectly, too bad for me. Lol. Send me your address to j52wf@aol.com and I'll send it out. I lost my original one on my previous Sunline somewhere between NJ and SD.
