Sofa - Free to Good Home

We remodeled our trailer right after we got it. The sofa was removed. It's been taking up space in the spare bedroom ever since.
We hate waste, so we are reluctant to throw it away.
We used it for about four months after we got the trailer (new).
It is 72 in. long (6 ft). The back is 20" high, and the bench is 21" deep. It is the fold out sleeper type. The cover is black/gold/brown/touch-of-green with fern and oak(?) leaves in the pattern.
No spills, stains,or pet hair/odors.

What did you put in it's place? We just took our sofa apart and reconfigured it and it's much better. If no one here wants your sofa, there is a group on yahoo called "freecycle" where you can get rid of anything. I'm always giving away something. I hate filling up landfills with perfectly good stuff that we no longer use.

The sofa was over the water heater. It had two tiny, nearly useless drawers. Seemed like a lot of wasted space. Plus, the dining table was a stand-alone that had to be folded up and stowed before traveling.
So, I built a wood box that just barely fit over the heater. Then I attached one end of the table to the wall over the heater. Then I built a bench seat with storage space underneath to go along one side. The other side has a reclining office chair. I also built some covering trim to hide the water pipes and gas lines. The result was more storage, a permanently attached table, and more comfortable seating for us.

We had an apolstry covered memory foam mattress made for the bottom. I used the fabric and foam from the old sofa to make a back rest. It turned out great, and our daughter said it was so comfortable to sleep on.

Before you throw it out, craigslist it, or put it on eBay. You could probably get some decent money for it that way, and make sure to label it from an RV. Someone remodeling an older trailer may want just that.
