vintage revisited
Hello all I am the new owner of an older travel trailer that I am at a loss as to just what it is. I have looked in all the usual spots and some suggested to me and alas I am no closer to answering my query...just what do I have? There are plates on it and a plaque from California Housing but as to the rest...I have owned a few travel trailers for short stints in my lifetime and lived near quite a few true trailer heaven or heavenly destinations like Highway 1 in Carmel California, Big Sur, Carmel Valley, Keysville Calif. Kernville Calif and I have to my recollection never seen anything like my trailer. I need help if anyone out ther knows anything about my trailer I would greatly appreciate it. I do not know anything about it and need to get to work reinventing it. I am truly wanting a floor plan, wiring etc. I think I might just end up gutting it a bit at a time and oh will I need everyone's help out there. Thank You for reading my drabble, and for any help offered in advance! Excited to be here and to get started!

WELCOME V.C. : There is a FaceBook group called Tin Can Tourists which is a modern revival of the original 1919 group of same name that was formed at Fort DeSota park , Tampa , Florida.. calif is a hot bed for vintage rigs & sure someone will id a double overhang canned Ham.. YELLOWSTONE or DeCamp are some quick names that could be close.. There is a web site of the same name , having a good history library if you get the correct name. Believe dues could be $20 / yr , Very large group & clothes , books, license plates, mugs, etc in their mail order store. Rally's also..

Yes Caryn, the best resource out there is TCT. One member, Tim Heintz (of Heintz Designs), is like me with Sunline but for all vintage trailers. His personal library just can't be beat and he can identify trailers easily. I will pass your pictures on to him and see if he can ID it for you.

Here is Tim's response:
Not sure, I wonder what that name plate says just under the handle by the front door? I can be pretty sure that the year is going to be about a 1966 give or take a couple years. The front door is not original, and the trailer appears to have been painted before, plus having the top portion covered up (upper windows no visible) is making it a little more difficult to ID......The actual trailer is getting close to being a little too new for my to ID, Give me a Pre 1960 trailer any day! LOL Although I am trying to expand into the 1960's and early 1970's.

Thank You all for all of your help so far! I know I am going to need lots more before I am done.
will remove the tarp with my daughter's help hopefully tomorrow to take better pictures. It was not easy to get on there, I am going to have to rethink it.
I did not know that the end protuberances (jutting out parts) were called overhangs...DUH! I really like the look it seems kind of "different" not common.
The front and only door has a peephole in it that I had not seen before in a travel trailer. I have lived in trailers in Washoe Valley Nevada that all had peepholes I really like the idea, if I replace the door I'll need another peephole
