Thought I should finally introduce myself.

Hi. My name is Kelby. My wife and I are from Branson, MO. I have been using Sunlineclub since last October, so I thought I should finally introduce myself.

Last summer we worked at Shenandoah National Park. It was my 7th national park to work in. We had recently gotten a dog, so it limited us from staying in employee housing like I normally would. We wanted to search for a camper because there was one rv spot left for employees (2 total). We considered many types of trailers. The idea was that we could save money with a trailer compared to renting in Luray, VA, not to mention the gas driving up and down the mountain daily.

After much Craigslist searching and driving to all points of Virginia, we found a Sunline Advancer in Richmond, VA. It had water damage and part of the ceiling in the rear had been taken down to reveal the damage. Hey, it was cheap. He wanted $2200. I offered $1500. He accepted the offer minus the gas/electric refrigerator. He kept it and probably sold it to make up the difference. Perfect. We stayed in the camper all summer and through October, with the rear covered and closed off. We just used the front and the bathroom. Nice and cozy for a newlywed couple. Not a care in the world.

As it figured out on paper, we got ourselves a free trailer and more. I contemplated selling it after the season ended, as was the original plan. But we kept it. I just love it. We took a few weeks getting back to Missouri, enjoying the beauty of the Smoky Mountains along the way.

Getting back home, I started right away. Demolition! Luckily we have had a mild winter and she is almost finished. Can't wait for summer camping.

They say, "Virginia is for Lovers". We are expecting a baby girl in May.

Hi Kelby - Welcome to you and your wife. This site is an excellent place to get good information and meet many very nice, helpful people. I'm glad your new to you Advancer has worked out well for you. Good luck on your rebuilding project. Again, there are many very knowledgeable members in the SOC (Sunline Owner Club) who have answered lots of questions for me. The FILES tab at the top of this page has many helpful topics. I'm still fairly new here, but as I said have had many people help me in the last year. Enjoy your "new addition"! Again, welcome to the club!!

Thank you Wayne and Sandy. I took plenty of pics during the process. I was planning to post them when someone had questions, but let me get a few together and post them now. Might be tomorrow. Again, thanks for the warm welcome.

Also, I think it would not be much help to many, as the Advancer Lite is constructed differently than most. I think I have only seen a couple on here thus far. Much of it is styrofoam, even the floor.

Welcome and congratulations on your expectations! Your summer as newlyweds at Shenandoah NP in your Sunline sounds like a neat adventure. Would like to hear more about working in the National Parks.

As Paul and Nancy said, SOC is a very nice group - we've learned a lot here. Looking forward to your pixs.

Might want to consider naming the baby "Sunny" if it's a girl, and you haven't decided on a name. Welcome to SOC....... Maybe Vance if it's a boy after your "Advance" ?
