Hi Johnmanna,
We did not make it out this Thanksgiving. The last few weeks have been marked by a somewhat intense cold snap in central Ohio. Overnight, the teens were the lowest temperatures, and the highs hovered around freezing, a little above and below freezing. Because our area is so flat, we also get wind.
It's good to hear you made it out. We have done many winter campouts in the past. They are good times, and you have almost an entire state park campground to yourself. And no bugs...
We would not go in the snow by choice; we only got snowed on in the campground twice, in early March, and it was only about an inch. The temperature needed to be above freezing during the day, and the ideal was sun during the day, which made it all much better. The snow was gone by the time we left camp.
When we camped with our T-2499, we had to have a park with a heated shower house, and we camped without using the camper onboard tanks. Our T-310SR is one of the few TT's from Sunline that has an enclosed heated tank compartment. This allowed us to use the water in the camper. But we still wanted days above freezing to dump and have a bailout to use the heated shower house. We are blessed with a few state parks that leave one section open during the winter, and they either have a heated shower house or a porta potty.
A trip once a month or every two months over the winter was enough to help break up the winter blues.
John
