So sad, I have to sell my 1996 T1550, please advise
Hello all: I've had my 1996 T1550 for 12 years, bought it to travel solo as I faced an empty nest as a single parent. Now time is working against me and as I plan my retirement, I realize I don't have the same capabilities I did when I became a first-time RV owner. I am so sad to say goodbye to my Solaris. It's been a great run and I learned so much about camping, our community and the stuff that I am made of. I need your advice, though. I have no idea how to price to sell this old friend. I looked at Nada Guidelines and it doesn't seem realistic to me. I paid $6450 in 2006, Nada is suggesting a list price of $8395, with average retail $5220 and low retail $4350. How can this be? Can you tell me how I should be researching this?

I think most that check NADA for a price on their used trailers fail to read this:
Option note: Only select options below that are in addition to standard equipment and equipment noted in the manufacturer or year notes show above. If you are uncertain of what came standard, please contact your manufacturer with your VIN.
Are you adding in options to the base prices? Most people start adding things like a furnace, a/c, refrigerator, etc that are already figured into the price listed on NADA.. those items are standard equipment unless the trailer was ordered with say a larger refrigerator, or larger furnace, etc.

Thanks for this!
OK, I get it now. I'll also look around on the internet and see what similar years/sizes of other manufacturers are selling for. I bet I'm not the only one with a small Sunline who gets a lot of attention at campgrounds. I've had people offer to buy it when it was sitting on my property, or while I was packing it!

NADA has made it a little confusing with the way they display their data- the suggested list price is the MSRP from when the trailer was new. 22' bunk trailers were around 12-13k at the time, so this would make sense for a 15'. It's very helpful info to have because some insurance companies want to know what the original MSRP was, but it's very deceiving how they list it like you could ask that for it now.
I checked and the other two prices look correct for the year and model, they've held their value pretty well. That said, condition depends on if all appliances work, if there's any water damage in the walls, age of the tires, etc.
I'm not aware of any significant options that can be added to a '96 1550, so the base NADA pricing is pretty accurate. $3900 low retail and $4680 average retail.

There is a 1989 sunline Star Ray T15 for sale on a lot in Rochester, NH for $5500. Original asking price was $6495. It is on Craig's List and appears to be in very nice condition. You can view here if you want to compare.

Agreed, it does look in very nice condition. Possibly a little water damage on the side walls at the front corners, I see some staining by both front side windows. All in all though, pretty minor.
I've learned that a curling floor isn't a huge concern with the way these trailers were designed and built, so the curling floor in the bathroom isn't necessarily indicating water damage.
As with any Sunline, it's important to inspect it close for water damage. Pictures can hide a lot.

I am interested in your T1550,where are you located and do you still have it. If you have the dry wt, what is it? Very interested in Ohio, esp. when you decide on price.

I tried to send you a PM, but I don't think it worked. The dealer who sold it to me said the dry weight is 2200 lbs. Can you send me PM since I'm having trouble navigating this site? I want to talk to you about price and give you some disclosures before I post it on here for sale.
