Route 66 in a 1996!

Just some more background - My husband and I did a cross country trip from NC to New Mexico a few years ago, traveling along 40 and Route 66. We stayed in Red Roof Inns along the way with our dog. We realized how much better the trip would have been if we had been camping, so we are planning to redo it it with our 1996 17ft Sunline Solaris. But first, we need a few shakedown camping trips to figure out how and IF everything works! This is our first camper so we are newbies. I appreciate this support group and hope I don't wear out my welcome by asking too many questions!

Welcome Tracey!

Your trip sounds like a great one! Someday, in the not too distant future, we hope to do the Rt 66 trip with our Sunline.

This is the place for Sunline info! Read on, there is a lot already posted on lots of topics, places to camp, and how to fix or check your Sunline.

Do not be afraid to ask questions. And there are no dumb questions, just ones you need help with. We welcome you to our Cyber campfire, just ask if you cannot find something or need clarification. We were all new to camping in a camper at one time too. And each of us have different ways of the, right way to camp, which fits your personal situation.

You are wise to get the hang of camping in a camper close to home before heading out west. The learning curve gets better the more you camp. From both a learning point of view on how to camp, and learn about what the camper may need to be reliable for a trip that long. We can help with all of it.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing about your Sunline adventures. Posting pics of a topic you have a question on is good to help get the point across. And we really like seeing Sunlines in action, out camping!

John

Thanks for welcome! This group is such a valuable resource - It is giving me the confidence to address any issues that may come up on my older camper. I will post some pics as soon as I figure that out too! Our camper may be old, but she's got "soul"!

All Sunlines are now collector items! and yes, they have lots of soul at any age! We love ours!

There are 3 ways to add pics.

1. Upload pics to a specific post attaching them at the end of the post.

2. Linking them in from a public viewable web photo hosting service you have.

See here for 1 and 2 https://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f...html#post86041

3. You can upload pics to the forum in your own personal photo album. Then link them to anywhere in the text of a post. See here on how to create an album. https://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f...html#post87945

If you still get stuck, let us know. Pic's go a long way in helping show things you are working on, and we really like seeing Sunline pics!

Hope this helps

John

Welcome to the site Tracey!
We had been planning a cross country trip for 2020 but then all of the campground closures Covid forced us to postpone it. At this time, we know the campgrounds are open, but with all of the requirements in place, coupled with the surge in site bookings, we're not sure how to plan. We are open to advice on this site from anyone who has it to offer.
