newbie - looking
i'm brand new here as a member. I've been kibbutizing (is this a word?) for a couple of months and finally decided to join and ask some questions. In my name, old is the operable part. I' retired and bored. Live alone with a dog and cat I inherited when my X left. I have been looking for Sunline for a few months. But when you live in S.E. MS they are few and far between! But I may have found something in AR. I Need to ask the "fan" for some od his knowlwdge.

Welcome Old Terry,
The best of luck to you on your Sunny search. We had to drive over a 1,000 miles east and back west round trip for our current Sunline. The first one was 700 miles round trip, north and south... Amazingly, the 3rd Sunline (the project camper) was only 300 miles round trip, north east and back.
You might have to open up your search area. With the age of email and digital pic's, you can see a lot with good pics then then go for a drive.
Since you are looking for a used camper, ( of any brand) this thread may help. http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f7...per-17613.html
A water infection can happen and often times you cannot see it inside the camper. And the owner may be totally forthwith saying they have never seen a leak. Because they have not. The moisture meter helps as it can see through the walls, ceiling and floor for the water infection hiding inside.
Finding some level of water infection does not immediately mean no to buying it, but it does help sometimes on getting it for a better price. Fixing the water damage is not that hard to do if you have basic woodworking tools and have used them around the house for normal repairs. It will take time though. The materials are not that bad in cost, however hiring out water damage repairs can become very expensive due to the amount of labor hours included. How much depends on how large the damage is and the labor rate.
Good luck hunting for your favorite Sunline. We are here to help with any and all questions.
John

Hello Terry! I have a Sunline Lite, T-2299, 2005 in Gulf Shores, Alabama right now. I just found out that it did leak in the front wall, however I think it could be fixed easily. I have posted some pictures in my album. I just took the picture today....

Hello Old Terry. I found a 1988 1550 for $375. It needs some minor repair on the front ceiling and some work to the roof. I went small because it is just me and my dog. The fuel savings will allow me to travel greater distances and enjoy more. Loaded, mine weighs around 2000 pounds. Have a self contained camper is the way to go. There are tons of free campsites at free campsites.net Some have water and some electric and some a bathroom but they are all free. Welcome to the site and I wish you well. Keep us in your loop.

pagroundhog,
Thanks for the greeting. I have not been looking for a while. Not too many sunlines in Ms or Al. lol One just came on cl in Mobile, but may have too many problems. There is a "15 foot in Knoxville, Tn, but owned by a "lady" who can't go take pictures because its in storage and her phone battery has to come from China. Oh Well. I'll keep looking and maybe run into you on the road.
Terry

Good evening,
I believe I read on here that someone has a T1550 for sale. I think they are on the East coast though. Not sure how far you are willing to travel.
