Newbie just arrived here

Hi, I just purchased a 1994 model T-2770 today. I am a first time camper and Sunline owner at the same time. We went to the dealer fully prepared to spend up to 15 K today and acquired this instead for much less. It is extremely nice on the inside. The outside is decent but could use some shining up. I think the wheels need to be white to brighten it up a little. It has all new suspension under it.
I will probably ask a bunch of questions as I have not done this before and will want to be ready when I go to try it out one weekend.

I agree, the black wheels look awful. Do they look like the stock wheels (with triangular spokes), or are they replacement solid wheels?

Just a word of advice...think about painting the current wheels. Paint doesn't like to stick to these wheels all that well, so unless the current finish is in good condition, it might be difficult to get a good paint job by sanding/sand blasting the wheel and painting it. Most stock trailer wheels have a baked on finish that holds for a long time. The only way it will crack/fall off is with something making a hole in the surface (rock, lug nut, etc.) or excessive heat, so original painted wheels, if washed once in a while, will last a very long time if taken care of. With just any brush/spray-on paint to paint a bare wheel, it could come loose at any time.

Many tire stores should sell these steel painted wheels (and fairly cheap too), so you could try them. You could check with an RV dealer, but they might be more expensive unless you can find a dealer with some left-over inventory from something. A tire store should throw in the re-mounting of the tires too.

We are from Lebanon. They are the wagon wheel type wheels with the triangle shaped hole. I don't think the black was powder coated. I might just paint them and worry about them later when they get ugly again.
We have to pick it up on Tuesday from the dealer. I think we got a fair deal at $3995. here are the only other pics I have for now.

Congrats on the new unit. The height looks to be raised so maybe the "new suspension" is due to a axle flip. About painting rims you might find a set of hubcaps/covers that would look good. Now to get miles on it, even with black rims.

We just picked it up yesterday. You are right it does have the axles on top of the springs.Why would someone do that? The only thing I could think of is their tow vehicle had a lift on it. It looks like they went all out with it though as it even has greasable spring pins and thick spring shackle plates. I am playing with everything I can to see what it does. I got the owners manual with it but it is not quite what I expected. It is just a 3 ring binder with every components owners manual inside. Not that I am complaing as I am sure this will be handy. I was expecting more of an actual guide that covered the basics.
Weight distribution hitch/ sway control is coming this week $268 shipped, thanks to Ebay. It sure beats the $600 from the RV Dealer. Now I need to get a spare tire for my piece of mind.

Some have "flipped the axles" for greater ground clearance. Sunlines sit low, causing the rear to drag when entering/exiting a gas station or such if the approach is much more than flat. We can't even get our 24 footer into our driveway without tearing up the skidbars. Up to 4 inches clearance can be added by flipping the axles. You'll probably be glad the axle flip has been done.

Wow, no way. We picked up a '94 t-2770 less than a year ago as well! They are a pretty uncommon model but how 'bout that bathroom huh???

Ours was in good shape but yours looks even a bit better. I like the color scheme in yours better.

There is or maybe was a general information book for the trailer. It is a little bigger than your standard paperback book and was loose in the binder of ours. It was just general information but was definately good to have as this was our first travel trailer.

If you have any questions, just ask and I will try to answer.

And yes, alot of people raise the sunlines. Our 2770 sits stock and I could not get it up the slope in front of our house so we had to rent a storage spot for it. Next year we are going to move back to our other house and then I will be able to bring the sunny home!

Yes the bathroom is impressive. I think the shower is bigger than the one in our house....hoping to change that one day. I will have to look again as there is a lot in the binder. We are planning a trip to Ocean City MD fairly soon so we got to get it ready to roll.
