Newbie introduction
Hello Good People:
I am the proud owner of a New/Old 1988 Satellite trailer.
This is my first experience with a trailer as I recently stepped up
from a pop-up. I am surprised at how well this unit has survived
the years. Its a bummer that Sunline closed its door a couple of years
ago as I would like to find a manual for this camper and don't know where
to begin looking..I guess this is the best place to start, its a T-2461
with an Option "B" front..I'm hoping that someone on this site has a pdf
file of this manual..
Thanks for any help that you can provide..
Michael Kaye

Hi Michael, welcome to the SOC. The Sunline manuals that came with a new unit are just a big binder with info from the manufacturers of the components in the unit. You can try looking at the tab marked "Files" at the top of the page. If you have questions about something specific there are many knowledgeable people here willing to answer questions.

Michael,
I have a copy of a general operations manual included in all '88-'92 coaches, but it'll be about a month or more before I'm done with it. Stay tuned...

Welcome Michael! Glad you found us and your Sunline.
I see Sunline Fan is up to his history scanning again and it will be good to get one of the older manuals up on the site.
See this post asked by another new member. http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f1...html#post88428
Iwill help. The 2 manuals we have scanned into the SOC files section are of newer campers but the Sunline written info will for the most part still apply to your older rig.
Good luck camping.
John

Potential New Owner of 94 T-2053
Hi Folks...
I joined this forum because I am possibly buying a T-2053. The present owner is asking $4000 which seems like a lot for a 16 year old trailer. But it appears that Sunlines are built to last and it may be worth it. What do you folks think?Any feedback is appreciated. Is there anything specifically I should look for in order to evaluate the condition of the trailer. NADA guides seem to be completely worthless as they assign very low values to everything. Apparently, the value of any used trailer is based mainly on what the market will bear and insights from current owners. Thank you.

well, I bought the 1994 T-2053 but I don't take delivery of it until September when I will trying to learn all the buttons and switches. I am very pleased with my purchase and these forums are a testament to the Sunline brand. I am sure all those switches will become second nature at some point and I am looking forward to it.

1988 Sunline Satellite
Hey Michael:
We are also new owners of a 1988 Sunline Satellite T2251. Im pretty sure we have the same model. Im up in the Capital District. I have a fairly extensive manual - it was the original blue binder with Brochure listings and manuals. If you need anything - let me know and I'll be happy to scan and email or fax to you.
We purchased ours in March and have been out about 10 times. Furthest we've ventured is Buffalo for a family reunion. I love our design and there's nothing else out there like it.....
All of our systems are in working order (knock on wood), but unfortunately, this weekend, on our trip up to Caroga Lake, we hit something in the road and it damaged the front right corner just above the frame. We're devastated..... to say the least and are looking for someone to fix... we have a slight awning problem, the bottom hookup was put on without having enough strength to the molding/frame, so we're in the process of trying to fix that. Other than that, we've had alot of fun, with kids and without. Hope you're enjoying as well.

Hi Patti:
Sorry for the delay in responding and I want to thank you for your offer.
We bought our trailer from a fellow camper at the place where
we are seasonal campers in Marlboro VT. Over the past 7 years we went from tent to pop-up , then into a fixed orbit with our 1988 Satellite 2461. It was not on the road very much and well cared for , its a real sturdy piece of cosiness. I don't have anything to haul it with and quite happy where we are. I'm trying to locate a manual for the trailer itself and information on the 12 volt converter. It handles the 12 volts for the trailer OK but does not put out more than 2.2 volts for the battery. My guess is that a diode or some component has blown as the result of a power surge. What I need most of all is the schematic diagram which is hard to find when the company has been out of business for a decade or more. So I'm hoping its somewhere out there.
My wife & I trek up from the Bronx to camp away from the craziness.
I am originally from Albany and love the Capital District. My grandparents lived in town & I got to hang out in the summers. I have retired after 45 years in the Broadcast business and my wife is a physical therapist who does homecare for the elderly. We hope to meet up with you in someday in Vermont..
Thanks & Happy Travelling.
Michael Kaye
