New to Me - '87 T-1550

Hey all - This past weekend, I bit the bullet and picked up an '87 Saturn T-1550. I spent a sometime lurking in the shadows on here, learning what to look for. Shes an old girl but has good bones. Exterior needs a little TLC. The interior needs minimal repairs. Floor is solid, no water stains on the ceiling, all the appliances work, plumbing/electrical is in good shape.

All in all, we're able to camp in her as-is but I do have some upgrades to do before the maiden trip. I plan on converting all the lights to LED, updating the 110v outlets, reupholster the cushions, r&r the vinyl floor, and strip and paint the walls.

I look forward to chatting/learning with you all!

Mike

Thanks everyone for the welcoming.

I started an album with some pictures of her if you want to check it out. I tried posting the link to the album but it wouldn't work for some reason.

I'm not sure what happened. When I went to submit the post it said it needed to be approved by a mod.

But thank you for posting the correct link!

I think you may have triggered the spam filter by posting a link, because you are new. It puts them in a queue for us to approve or deny, based on if we think it's spam or not. It should go away after you've been here a while. For now, if you post and receive that message, don't worry about it and just wait for a mod to approve, or send one of us a PM to make sure we see it.

The outlets are special camper outlets a normal outlet will not fit in their place except for the gfi one the walls are not deep enough and the wires will be too short, you'll be far better off leaving them alone they really aren't problematic good to 15 amps.

This post may help show what you are up against on many of the camper wall receptacles. Page 2 has detail pics of the wall receptacles.

Interesting, I'll have to look into them. If not to replace, then just for my own knowledge box.

Thanks for the info!

Thanks JohnB - Looks like one of the previous owners had already replaced some of the outlets. I'll have to investigate.
