New Sunline owner

Hi everyone, I just moved up from a popup to a Sunline 2003 T-2475. I have camped my whole life from tents to my present purchase. I was wondering if anyone who has moved up from a popup to a trailer has any tips or remembers any surprises from their first trip. I have a weekend trip planned for the beginning of September to get comfortable with the camper. I have read a lot of great info in this forum and look forward to being an active member.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new to you Sunline!

The thing that sticks out in my mind the most was once of our first trips in the Sunline (we owned a Pop-up before) was waking up in the morning feeling like I slept in my own home...no wet canvas to deal with and lots of room to roam around.

Other than that campin' is campin'!

Like Kathy & Leo said, no surprises, just pure comfort.

The one big difference I remember from when we moved up from a pop-up to a trailer was the added exterior equipment & supplies needed, like water hose, water pressure regulator, 30-15 amp adaptor, sewer hose, chemicals, etc.

One suggestion, if you can, make your first trip close to home just in case you’ve forgotten something.

Hey, Lost Hunter,
I remember getting 20 mpg with our Aliner poopup (no that's not a typo)

. Now I feel good to see 12, but... we do sleep so much better.

Thanks for all the replies. We have our maiden voyage planned for a few weeks from now. Going camping not far from here to get comfortable with the trailer.

We are gathering all the additional equipment required for the camper. I did forget about the water pressure regulator and I'm sure there are a few more things I'll discover over the first few trips

We too came from the Pop up World to the TT. The PU days where great. But the TT days are even better….

You will have some adjusting to do. You are now pulling a coach on wheels. You will find it gets a little harder to set the TT in place over the PU but in time each trip gets better and TT life soon becomes very enjoyable and addictive.

If you bring most everything you had in the PU in the TT the 1st time, you will have tons of extra room and you will still camp very comfortably. And in time all that extra room will be filled with more “stuff”. And you will rearrange about 3 times the 1st year finding just that right spot for it. It is the natural course of events of 1st time owners a TT. Don’t fight it, it will happen all on it’s own…..

Welcome to the group and wonderful world of Sunline ownership. Like you, mom and I did the pup thing for a year. We even went out west for a month, different campground almost everynight. We were really quick with the setup but dealing with the wet canvas was no fun. So we bought a little 16' Sunline and never looked back.

Like JohnB said, you'll re-arrange things quite a few times, need or want a few more things but your gonna love not having to pop up & down.
