new sunline owner 1983 T1751

Just found this site after buying a 83 sunline t1751 model. the trailer is in great shape for the age. It does need a few little things though. I am really looking to find out what dometic fridge it came with as i want to keep the trailer as much as original as possible. If anyone knows, feel free to include any info you might have on this model. The trailer was bought in cedar grove, Wisconsin and it took us about 4.5 hrs to tow it home which is in eastern iowa. Cant wait to spend some time on this site to learn more about this sweet little camper

Hi Dr17

It is amazing the decals on a 1983 camper look so much better than my 2004 unit... WOW...

Looks like you have a nice coach there. Welcome to the club and happy camping.

Thanks for sharing the pics. We like pics!

John

Wow, beautiful shape!

Original refrigerator should have been a Dometic RM 2300 series gas/electric. Chances of finding a working authentic one are pretty slim, but I suppose you could if you searched hard enough. Not that it would be easier, but you could look for a broken one and rebuild/replace the cooling unit part of it instead.

The hard part would be to get a panel and a cabinet door handle for it to put on the face of the refrigerator that would match your interior. I always tell people to save that panel if they get rid of the original refrigerator.

The good news is, it's a woodgrain and not a wallpaper.

thanks everyone for the compliments. It is a nice trailer but it does have some work to be done. I would say for a 30 yr old trailer its in pretty darn good shape. Someone has replaced the fridge though, reason i am looking for a original period one. I tend to keep things the way they were from the factory if possible. I love vintage things i guess. thanks for the info on the fridge and please keep your eye out for me on the fridge as i look as well.

I own a 1986 T1550, I believe the model number of your original unit is clearly stamped on your refrigerators' exterior access door...It is on mine. Your access door seems original in the pic.

Congrats and very nice looking camper!

Did you happen to drive through Mukwonago WI in the past week towing with a Honda Ridgeline???

I saw a Sunline go through town and was going to ask on here.....Don't see too many Sunnys in these parts!

wasn't me. we were pulling with a gmc envoy. I already did a search for the # on the door. All i come up with was the access door. I was thinking the same thing when i seen the # but it isnt the case.
