New Sunline Owner

2003 Sunline Solaris T-2553

Just bought it 10-06-2014, and I love it! I went hunting, camper all my life when I was a child. My father took us all over. I'm sure he had a few different campers but the one I remember the most and the he had the longest was a little 18' or 20' sunline. It was old and didn't have A/C but it didn't matter to my sister and I. Lots of memories were made.

Now I am a father of two boys (3.5, and 2) so I bought a small camper last season. A 1994 20' Starcraft which was awesome but we out grew it quick. After using that camper which was great but had small issues and now having this one, wow it's amazing for me and the kids flipped out.

So although I am not new to camping, I am newish to owning a camper and maintaining it. I will probably be using the search feature a lot and asking a bunch of questions until I figure things out. This camper came with a cover, wheel covers, and a spare tire cover so I'm sure that will help keep it in good shape.

Anyway that's all I have for now. So hello, and I guess I'll talk to everyone soon enough.

Welcome!

Congrats on your new coach!! That is a nice camper.

We are here to help, just ask away.

You stated using our search feature, one thing we do have is a custom made Google search which works better then the site search.

If you are not finding much with the site search on the forum, try this.
Google Custom Search for SOC

Good luck and happy camping

John

Great info! I am on a bunch of forums, ford 150, Harley Davidson, and a few more so I know how useful the search feature is and how pissed some people get when you don't use it. I will definitely use that. Thanks for the heads up.

Welcome to the SOC! Don't be shy about posting pixs of your new-to-you Sunline. We have an F150 too and it's great for towing our 2363. Happy Camping!

New camper

Hi and welcome to the forum. We have a 99 Sunline T2553 and love it. Bought it a year ago after a break of over 40 years. This was the best summer ( with the new to us camper) yet. Found the Solaris to be very liveable. One thing that I did was to get rid of the head banger shelf in the bedroom. I mounted a flat screen on the wall instead of that damn shelf.

Good luck with yours, you're going to love it. Happy camping!

Dave

Thanks Dave, we already love it. It's set up at a family members house. They live in Florida for the winter and the house is vacant. To the kids it's camping. My 4y/o and have been staying in it all week. It really is very comfy.

I am going to clean the roof this week so I'm reading up on what's the most popular products used and methods. JohnB has some great write ups here on this site. After I find a good cleaner I plan on inspecting all the caulk and fixing what needs attention. After that I plan on Eternabond roof sealant tape. I'm just not sure what product to use to clean the roof. I will take picture and post them when I figure it all out.

Just to be clear I do not currently have any leaks nor is there any sign of ever having any but the camper is a 2003 and I'm a new owner so I think it's my duty to inspect the roof, clean it and reseal it just for piece of mind sake.
