Smile New Member with a 1995 Solaris T 2370

Hi. My wife and I bought a used 1995 Solaris 2370 20 years ago from a neighbor. Sadly we only used it once and its been stored outside since. Just starting to try and refurbish it now. Needs new doors and tires so thats what Im starting out with. No leaks visible no water damage frame looks good. Exterior needs cleaning and then we will see about what works still inside! (Its still very clean all fabric cabinets honestly look like new still.

Welcome!

We are here to help as needed when the time comes.

If you have not towed in 20 years, consider adding to your start-up list removing the brake drums and performing a brake and wheel-bearing inspection. Wire brush clean up the rust, make sure the brake shoe adjuster is not frozen, repack the wheel bearings and adjust the brake shoes. The camper sitting outside that long can put some heavy rust on the brake drums' wear surface, the shoe adjuster system, and the other parts inside. The grease can be all hard/dried out. Attention to the brakes and wheel bearings before towing can ward off more significant issues later.

Have fun getting the camper up and going again.

John

Thank You John. Excellent and sound advice I will follow. We were going to have it moved from its storage area to our yard by AAA and then I will start to work on those items. Its about an 8 mile trip and the gentleman that will be doing it seems knowledgeable about travel trailers. He will also be installing the new tires (on rims I refurbished) before first that and check to make sure the camper can be safely moved. I cant work on it where it is stored so hopefully this will be good.
