Honestly, aside from evicting the bugs, there isnt much to do on it. It was a back yard setter. never used, idle for 10+ years. the biggest issue is getting it secured in the truck bed. it came with factory tie down brackets that mount in the bed rail holes. they stick up 2 inches, . the bed sides are 24 inches, the camper is 18 inches to the bed sides overhang. soooo, a few 6X6 under the camper puts it at the right height. ill do the frame mount tie downs this fall, but will make do over the rest of the summer. my one project is to install air conditioning. here in Virginia, it is a necessity. It is ordered and paid, should be here early in the next week and should be an easy install, through an existing roof vent. trailer is supposed to be pre wired, so no big deal fishing wire to it. thinking also the 3 point tie down system needs to be a 4 point system, so ill deal with that this fall also. ill work on getting up some pictures.
as to hard to find. i searched for a month, online, penny savers, etc. and no short bed truck campers under 10k were to be found. seems most mfg's went out, and the few left in are asking and getting a fortune for new units. most are huge, and extravagent, mc mansions on wheels. i was shocked to get a reply to a WANTED ad, just a few miles away from me, and more suprised when it turned ut to be a Sun Line short bed model. Carma i reckon, can be good at times. so now i have 2 1985 models, happy as a frog on a Lilly pad.
