New 2475 Owner Checking In

Jon & Val from Southern Michigan here - we just brought home a pretty sharp 1997 T2475. This is our first full feature camper so we thought we would give you all a heads up as we will likely be asking many questions in the future.

We've been camping for years but have always done the rustic route. Last year I picked up a project camper (Scamp 13) to fix up and sell and one thing led to another and POOF there is a Sunline in the driveway! We do all our camping in Michigan's UP, especially the Keweenaw, also Northern Wisconsin, and Minnesota. There is probably a trip to Vermont and Maine in our future too. We are heading up to the Keweenaw for a few weeks in May. Any Michigan campers out there?

One quick question - besides here and the Yahoo group is there any other resources specifically for Sunliners on the web?

Thanks!

Jon and Val,

Welcome to the forum! Where from Michigan are you from? Did you by chance buy the '97 2475 that General RV just had? To answer your question about resources on the web, YOU'RE HERE! I'd say this is the best place for Sunline owners to find anything about their units. I personally have not heard anything about the Yahoo Group, so I can't say if they're good or not.

Jon

Yup - that would be our new (to us) 2475. Do you have any info on it? It was a brokered unit and we were told the seller was a widow who wanted it gone. We put a deposit on it over the phone a week ago Saturday and immediately drove up from Jackson to inspect it. Probably not the best way to buy an RV, but I'm pretty savvy about mechanical things and there literally were two other couples waiting to see if we were taking it. I've spent the past week going through it and have found no issues other than a bad wall plug for the microwave and the water heater seems too hot when using electric.

There are two Yahoo groups - the second one is moderated and spam free, the first apparently is not. The spam free group seems like a good bunch of people - a bit quiet though.

Are you from Michigan? Where abouts?

Yes, I'm from Northville. Are you from Jackson, or somewhere near there?

I first saw the 2475 on the General website and it said it was at the Wixom store. Since that's the closest one to me, I hoped to go look at it, but then I saw it got moved to Birch Run. It looked like a pretty nice unit, though, especially for the price. The asking price seemed lower than what they would normally ask for a trailer that age, but I guess that's probably due to the condition of the economy here.
