new 2006 T-1950 owner

Hi, my name is Sheri, and my hubby Paul and I just picked up our new Sunline Solaris T-1950 today. We are thrilled with this trailer! Up until 3 seasons ago we tented. Then in 2004 we bought a T@B, which we completely loved, except no bathroom. We would like any information or tips Sunline Solaris owners can give us regarding our first time out. Since this trailer has been winterized and it will be it's "maiden voyage", any advice you can give us will be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to being one of the many proud owners of a Sunline trailer.
Sunline Sheri

Well first off - WELCOME ABOARD! You will get loads of helpful info on this forum. DH & I also own a 2006 T1950, but I'm not in a position to offer any "set-up" info....that is his job, not that I can;t do and have but he is the "master" of set up.

I'm sure others will chime in with the right answers! I can tell you we put an electric jack on the tongue and it works for me!!!!!

Welcome

Welcome to the group. I must say you have good taste in trailers. We own a T@B and a T1950. Both are great units. I use the T@B when I'm going for a quick 1 or 2 day trip for old car shows usually alone. But when the better half joins me......the Sunline truly gives you all the comforts of home!!

Hi Sheri! I just joined this discussion too. I can tell you I love my '05 T1950. 2006 was the first year with mine and you'll quickly discover the quality of your Sunline coach.

You will meet some of the nicest people in your travels. I learned a great deal from fellow RVers over a morning coffee or a cold beer later in the day.

(Tip: Always go out of your way to help guide a fellow RVer back into their site - it will pay dividends down the road.)

I'm hoping to find a Sunline rally this summer - it would be fun to meet more Sunline owners.

Have fun!!

Love Our T-1950

Hi Sheri,

We took delivery of our T-1950 last November and have made two trips in it so far with more planned this year as well as a 3-week trip in July. You will really enjoy your Sunline and this forum.

Hi Sherry Welcome! I love the 1950 floorplan, but due to our small tow limit, and the lack of funds for a new TV, we have a little Que . I just wanted to say welcome aboard!

Hi Sheri,

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Sunline.

If your Sunline is still winterized, you should sanitize the water system before your first trip. Here's what I do each spring to sanitize the water system.

1. Get 1 or 2 empty gal containers.
Note, I save the anti-freeze to use in the fall when winterizing the trailer.

2. Place empty container under Hot Water Line Low Point Drain.

3. Open Hot Water Line Low Point Drain Valve

4. Go into camper and Open ALL Faucets (both hot and cold)

5. Wait until anti-freeze stops draining.

6. Close Hot Water Line Low Point Drain Valve

7. Place container under Cold Water Line Low Point Drain

8. Open Cold Water Line Low Point Drain Valve

9. Wait until anti-freeze stops draining.

10. Close Cold Water Line Low Point Drain Valve

11. Save Anti-Freeze to use in the fall for winterizing camper
(I use if to pure down sink drains to put anti-freeze in p-traps)

12. Close ALL Faucets.

13. Fill Fresh Water Tank with water bleach mixture.
Mixture should be ¼ bleach for each 15 gallons of water.
a. I Mix 1 cup of bleach with a few gallons of water in a 5 gallon water container.
b. Poor the Bleach – Water mixture into your Fresh Water Tank.
c. Fill the Fresh Water Tank up with water – using a hose.

14. Run Water-Bleach mixture through Water Lines to purge remaining anti-freeze by:
DO THIS WHILE THE HOT WATER TANK IS STILL BYPASSED so you don’t put anti-freeze into the hot water tank.
a. Turn pump on and wait for it to stop.
b. Once it has stopped open up each Faucet both Hot and Cold to purge remaining anti-freeze is drained out and until you start detecting the smell of bleach.
DO THIS FOR ALL FAUCETS BOTH HOT AND COLD, including exterior shower (if you have one)

15. Run Water-Bleach mixture into the Hot Water Tank.
a. TURN PUMP OFF.
b. Re-Set Hot Water Tank By-Pass (so that Hot Water Tank IS NOT being bypassed).
c. Turn pump on and wait for it to stop.
The pump will run for a while because it’s filling up the Hot Water Tank.
d. Once it has stopped open up each Faucet; both Hot and Cold to purge all air out of the lines.
DO THIS FOR ALL FAUCETS BOTH HOT AND COLD, including exterior shower (if you have one)

16. Let Bleach-Water Mixture sit for a few hours.
This will sanitize the full water system.

17. After a few hours (2-3 hours), drain the water system, hot water tank, and fresh water tank.

18. Fill fresh water tank with a Water-Baking Soda Mixture.
a. I use about 2 cups of Baking Soda mixed with a few gallons of water.
b. Poor Water-Baking Soda Mixture into Fresh Water Tank
c. Fill the Fresh Water Tank at least ½ full with water – using a hose.

19. Run Water-Baking Soda through Water Lines and Hot Water Tank by :
a. Turn pump on and wait for it to stop.
The pump will run for a while because it’s filling up the Hot Water Tank.
b. Once it has stopped open up each Faucet both Hot and Cold to purge remaining water-bleach mixture and until you NO LONGER are detecting the smell of bleach.
DO THIS FOR ALL FAUCETS BOTH HOT AND COLD, including exterior shower (if you have one)

20. Allow Water-Baking Soda Mixture to sit overnight.
This will remove the bleach smell from the water lines.

21. The next day drain the water system, hot water tank, and fresh water tank.

22. Run water through the system via the City Water Connect.
a. Allow Hot Water Tank to fill-up with water, then
b. Open each faucet to purge water-baking soda mixture.

23. You’re ready to go.

Hi Sherri,

There is a rally planned - see below!

Come one, come all!

You are officially invited to the first ever Sunline Owners Club Eastern M&G!

When: August 3-5
Where: Buttonwood Campground, Mexico, PA
http://www.buttonwoodcamp.com/
717-436-8334

Details: When you call, mention that you are with the "Sunline Owner's Club" ,so that we can all be put together. Also, if we have more then 6 rigs, we will get a 10% discount. She said that she will put us all together, some pull throughs, some back ins across from each other, so that we are not all 'in a line' and she can accomodate the different size rigs.

T1960

Hi, this is Sunlinesheri's hubby, Paul and I want to thank you all for the overwheling response. This is a very enthusiastic group. In the last two years I twhink we saw every trailer built trying to find what we really wanted and found that we compared them all to a Sunline. To Edzius, I don't think it's just "good taste" we both had a T@B and Sunline but rather both knowing good value and quality workmanship. Both units are exceptional and we'll miss the T@B but not the Porta Potti. PT Hutch, your startup procedure is very detailed and welcome. I printed it out for my guide to get the unit up and running. The systems in total all seem a bit overwhelming but I'll get used to it and it will all be routine soon enough. Thanks all.

Congratulations on your new Sunline.

We too, just took ownership of a 2007 T1950 Solaris. We brought it home on Friday the 20th!!!

We are pretty excited. This is our first hardside RV. We traded up from a pup-up. We just couldn't believe the interior looks of this baby.

WE RV
I know how you feel stepping up. We had a T@B for a few years and loved the T@B but it was small and had everything but a bathroom. I like getting up in the middle of the night without involving shoes and flashlights. For the past year or so I think we saw every major trailer manufacturer and configuration and found that each time we compared each to the floor plans and quality of Sunlines. Then we found this new 2006 T-1950 in April and it was a no brainer. We really like the 2360 but that would mean buying a bigger truck to haul it ($$$$$) so it was a good compromise. We've been out once so far and love it as we knew we would.
