SUN #89
JohnB is on a distinguished road
Welcome!

Congrats on your new Sunny! Good times ahead.

Yes, your vintage camper has the metal roof. The seams, outer perimeter edges, vent flanges and other roof openings require maintenance and sealants to prevent leaks. Keeping the roof clean from mold/moss and debris buildup is a need too. The metal itself, is good unless there are pin holes of corrosion in it, but the sealants where they are used, have to be maintained. The sun, weather and time break down the sealants.

Having restored many rubber roof campers, the metal roofs if they where taken care of, will outlast the rubber roofs. But, all RV roofs need maintenance wherever the sealant is. Four times a year checking all the sealants is what is recommended by the manufactures for the sealants.

Good luck and looking forwards to seeing and hearing about your Sunny adventures. Any and all questions welcome. This is the place for Sunline info!

John
