Ner to the Sunline Owners Club!

My fiance and I just purchased our first Sunline, and picked it up yesterday. We bought a 1986 Sunline Satelite on ebay. Already I am in love! We bought this camper for our honeymoon. We plan on towing it out to the grand canyon from NY this august, but not before I start on the modification projects! We need some new vinyl flooring, carpet paint and curtains. I can't wait to get started!

Congratulations on all counts and welcome to the club!!

For a Sunline of that vintage, be sure to give the brakes and wheel bearings a thorough inspection and adjustment before starting on that long trip. I would also check all caulking and seals top to bottom, fore to aft. Water leaks are killers for a travel trailer.

Congrats on your purchase and up-coming wedding. Even thought you have purchased an older Sunline, don't let age fool you that wonderful Sunline will provide you with many years of enjoyable rv'ing. Maintenance is critical, and modifying/personalizing is so exciting.

This site is chock full of how-to-do it help, and a lot of tips/hints for modifications you can make.

So, if you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask, it won't take real long to get some answers.

Welcome Hakes

Going cross country in a Sunline. Very Cool.

Since your new Sunny may not have been loved as much as you will, do check the brakes and do a bearing grease repack before heading west. And check the tires for age. 5 years is about it. Ideally once you get all this stuff and other upgrades done, do some local camping to make sure it all works.

Have fun and take some pics along the way to share. We like pics of all kind of folks having fun in there Sunlines!!!

John
