Just graduated from our tent!

Hello everyone, My fiance and I just upgraded to a 1991 T-1550. This is our first camper and we cant wait for the snow to melt! We do most of our camping in northern Michigan where the warmth of the camper will surely lengthen our camping season by a few weeks. Its nice to see we have a community of fellow sunline owners to help us with the many questions that we will surely encounter. I see most people get harassed for not having a picture so I will be sure to take some on our first camping trip(The ones with 1ft of snow on top aren't that exciting).

Welcome, we have a very similar rig only a generation older. We have modified ours in a number of little ways to make it morecomfortable for two.

Welcome Mclamp!

Did you by chance buy the one in Greenville?

While it isn't up north, you should consider coming to the Midwest Meet & Greet in Hillsdale in May. Hopefully the snow will be all gone by then . It is a great place to come as a newbie because you'll be surrounded by quite a few somewhat experienced campers who can help you with any issues that may arise and answer any questions you may have.

Jon: Yes it is the one Greenville are you familiar with it? I will definitely try to make it to the meet & greet, it sounds fun and is not far from Lansing.

Honda: What sort of 2 person comfort mods have you made? I'll have to spend a few weekends in it before I can start finding things to complain about .

If you go up the page to files/other files you'll see a posting titled Preparing a 1982 Sunline....

In addition we have added a 'dry' shower by expanding the bathroom and a pantry next to the bathroom door. There is a posting showing this on the site. Oh yes we also added two solar panels to the roof with plans for more dry camping.

My wife's favorites are the big skylight over our new shower, the bread draw and the slide out shelf at the end of the kitchen counter where we put our coffee pot and toaster in the morning.

I think another big one was replacing the kitchen table with a shorter table, more useful for just the two of us.

Hope this helps

Norm

I'm not too familiar with it, I just saw it on Craigslist.

It does look in good condition though!

Welcome to the group and congrats on your wonderful Sunline purchase. This site is so chock full of wonderful people and trust me, there is such a wealth of knowledge to be had here. And if you want to do any modifying to your Sunline, well once again this site can keep you busy for weeks, maybe even months.

Hi Mclamp

Welcome. I see we share something in common, waiting for the snow to melt!!! LOL

We look forward to hearing about your camping adventures. And yes we too went from tent, to pop up, to medium TT to now our big one. The evolution of modern camping… And then some of us start going back down again…

Welcome aboard and happy camping in your Sunline.
