Yes. It's using electricity to generate heat to run the fridge just like it would with propane.
Double check your roof vent and make sure nothing is obstructing the air flow which would cause the compartment to get hotter than it should. Pull the cover and visually inspect for blockage. Yes, you have to get on a ladder to remove the vent but it needs to be done.
Newer RVa have fans up in the roof vent to improve air flow. Kits are available at RV shops and online.
My Cougar has the fridge in a slide-out so there is no roof vent. It has an upper wall vent and there is a fan in there controlled by a thermal switch it works very well.
