Holding Tank

Hi Sunline!!

Too hard for me to navigate forums etc.* One question PLEASE..I own a very dear old Sunline 1994 T2653 travel trailer.* Park have closed the public bath so I am forced to use our own facilities.* I need to know size of black tank (gray water is drsined direct into the ground); is there a way I can find out?* Unfortunately, my binder of resources does not include the sanitation particulars.* Sincere thanks for any advice you may have for me.

Sheryl

Hi Sheryl,

Welcome1

To your question, a 1994 T2653 came with a 30 gallon black tank.

The gray tank was 35 gallons.

And the fresh water system had 34 gallon capacity. In the fresh water system, 6 gallons was used by the water heater and about 2 gallons in the piping. That leaves the fresh water tank to hold about 26 gallons.

Let us know if you need more help.

Hope this helps.

John

Holding Tank

John B,
Thank you kindly for your wealth of knowledge! I am trying to research what supplies I will need, ie sewer hose, sewer tank tote, chemicals in order to fully service our trailer bath and this concept is all VERY NEW to me. Thank you for your reply. I apologize if I access the forums incorrectly, need a course on this too!
Sheryl

If you are just using your water tank it is unlikely you can fill the tanks if you are connected to a water tap is where the trouble begins. How long are you staying for?

I am parked on a seasonal site and connected to well water. The gray water drains directly into the ground. Due to Covid 19 the public facility us closed this season. There is a pump out station at the park and I am researching what I need to know. I an considering what size tote tank is needed to efficiently transport from my trailer across the park to empty. Not sure if I should make sure it is same or bigger in storage capacity? Chemicals for holding tank? Thanks so much!!

Make sure you get a tote tank with a tow handle to easily move it to the dump station. 30 gallons of waste water will weigh over 240lbs (110kg). I would not wait until the tank is almost full to dump it.

Get a 42 gallon 4 wheel tote. You won't have to worry about overflowing it since it is bigger than any of your tanks.
