Hello, My name is MountainMike

I am happy to be a part of this group.
Has anyone ever had an issue with owning an older camper, as far as not being allowed in some campgrounds?
Thanks .

Have heard of it but never experienced it I would guess an old beat up one just left there on purpose would be and issue for the campground.

Welcome Mike!

I have some friends who have experienced this. In their case it was camper had to be 10 years old or newer. It seems to be the more higher end campgrounds have these restrictions. We have never had the issue.

Camping at state parks or federal parks I have not heard or seen this as long as the camper is being used.

In April of this year, we stayed at a privately owned campground in NC which has that ten-year rule. However, it's not ironclad. Upon sending them pics of our 1999 camper, they were happy to accept us.

I'd guess many campgrounds are similarly flexible as long as your rig is in good condition.

I have experienced the age discrimination from several places. All wanted pic's prior to booking. I just look for somewhere else to support.

I had a Toyota motor home wonder what they would say about a 1987 motor home?

We have a 1979 Sunline and have never had a problem with a 10 year issue.
