Hello from Virginia

Hello, Pauline here.

Want to thank you for the great forum and all the invaluable info and uploads. We just purchased a 1986 Sunline Satelite T-1661. Love the trailer. Very cozy. I grew up "caravinning" in England and Scotland and have very fond memories of those those days.

Wish us luck. We found some water damage in the front walls and floor. Looks like it's going to be a bit of a project so I'll be studying up on all the repair info posted by the members here.

We have company coming in September and this was going to be the guest quarters. Hope we can get her all fixed up in time.

Here are some pics - before we started tearing into the the paneling:

I like the floor plan that's a good use of space. Sunline seems to do a good job of that. Have fun with your new toy!

My 2nd Sunny was a 1987 1661...I didnt have it long before the "just a little bigger" bug bit me. I sold it to a family of four whose tt axle had broken and wrecked...they were traveling at the time (in a light snow)to Florida and were actually going to live in it while selling artwork on the highways!! She said it was the "nicest house she ever lived in"...wow..!!
Anyway,it really is a nice little floorplan! Very functional... Janalee

Hi Pauline

Welcome to the Sunline forum. As you can see we live in VA too. Hope to see you guys at one of the M @ G's. There is one at Shenandoah River State Park near Front Royal in October. No many folks signed up yet but we hope it grows.

She is in nice shape! Our water was coming from the rear corner by the door, the awning mount pulled away from the wall and let weather in. Haven't fixed it yet so can't tell you how...lol. Lots of old silicone on the roof of ours!

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

hiller64, nice to see someone else from VA. We are down in Floyd County, a ways south of Roanoke. Will keep the Front Royal event in mind. It's a straight shot up I-81 for us.

Well, the old girl is in a sorry state at the moment. We found more rotted wood in the floor so everything is torn down to bare metal in the front. It's not as bad as it could have been. We'll be able to "sister" in new sections in the floor frame. I hope we can replace the bad wall framing without having to take off the outer skin as we don't have a shop large enough to bring the trailer into. - And here I thought that all I would have to do was sew new curtains!

Hope yours is an easy fix aikenfamily. Yes, lots of silicone on our roof too. Honestly, we were amazed to see how bad ours was once we removed the paneling and some of the floor. There was no bad smell or any real evidence of the damage other than a soft area in the front corner. But it's an adventure and all part of the fun of having an older camper. We still love her.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Welcome oxalis! We live in Richmond and travel to Floyd every year or so. We stay at Daddy Rabbit's CG and go to the peach festival in Meadows of Dan (as well as Friday nights in downtown Floyd).
