Smile Hello From New owner of 1990 StarRay

Well, I'm not yet the new owner, but hopefully by this time tomorrow I will be. I'm guessing I've got a 1740? But that's only a guess based on the floorplan and model #listed in the brochure.

I've been poking around this forum for a bit tonight and have already learned a whole bunch which will be very useful when I go check her out tomorrow, so thank you for that.

She seems to be in decent shape, but I'm bringing a ladder with me so I can get a good look at the roof and check for any soft spots or signs of leaks, etc.

The asking price is $3,500 which is on the higher end of average according to the NADA guide I looked at, so let's hope she'll likewise be on the higher end of average when I go see her.

Anything else I should consider when I go by tomorrow?

Thanks in advance and looking forward to learning more from you folks and hopefully contributing something in return.

Molly

Hi Molly,

Welcome and hope your possible new Sunny looking is a good experience.

This may be a little late, but see this post on what else to consider. And is still good info even if you have bought it. https://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f...ing-20156.html

We are here to help, just ask away.

Hope this helps

John

Hi, John. Thank you for your warm welcome.

Unfortunately when I arrived to inspect the camper I found a couple already there doing the same thing.

Awkward. The seller double booked herself.

I overheard the couple saying that they had been to see another camper earlier and that it had sold 10 minutes before they got there.

So you can imagine the rest: they bought the camper on the spot.

Which is fine, because she was in pretty rough shape, with obvious leaks and painted-over damage.

Cute as a button on the outside but structurally? Not worth the $3,500 they paid for it.

So unfortunately it looks like I'm not going to be the proud owner of a StarRay.

Ah, well. Such is life. I'll keep looking and post again if something new comes up.
