Hello from Maryland
I was given a sunline camper and am trying to obtain a title. Can anyone tell me where the serial number is located. I also need to know what year it is , would this information be in the serial #?

Welcome to the club!
The VIN will be on a plate, on the tongue of the trailer... Just behind the hitch coupler. It may also be on a sticker, on the left-front side. A lot of them are no longer readable though. The year of the trailer would be on a sticker, inside one of the cabinet doors inside of the trailer. Do you have any pictures you can post? We have a Sunline expert on here, that could probably tell you what year it was made, just by looking at pictures of it.
Where in MD are you?

Jeese:
Where they are depends on the date of manufacture. There may be a plate on the tongue near the hitch, there usually a plate hidden under the door sill, it may be on a sticker on the exterior drivers side front, there also maybe a piece of paper glued to the inside of one of the cabinets.
Post as much info as you have, year, model, etc. and SUNLINE FAN will be along to tell you where to look in your model/year.
Welcome to the club and where are you in MD??

I am in Bel Air.I found the plate on the tongue and a sticker inside one of the cabinets but neither tell the year. The sticker says that it is a model 15 11/2 SB.

The first 15 1/2SB was made in 1981 and they also made them in 1982. In 1983, they started the T-1550 model designation. Your camper is most likely an 81, or an 82....

Jon (AKA: SunlineFan) would probably be able to give you an exact year, if you gave him the VIN...
Go to this page and send him your info...

Hey Jesse,
I just found some more info, that might help you...
"Basically, the VIN is in three places: 1) On the left tongue rail either stamped into the edge of the coupler or on an aluminum plate riveted to the trailer. 2) On the federal ID sticker (metal tag <1975) on the off door side front of the trailer box, but many of these stickers no longer exist due to weathering. 3) On an aluminum plate or plastic tag below the primary entry door sill plate
All Sunline VINs 1980.5-2007 will begin with 1LC as the world manufacturer identifier. The 10th digit fron the left will identify the model year. All Sunlines prior to that will be five to seven digits, with most being six. The last two digits are always the model year of the coach. Only some Sunspot trailers have seven digit VINs, otherwise they're all five or six"

Sorry, just getting on the computer to look farther down the list of posts over the last few hectic days.
As Gary posted, chances are your VIN will only be either under the door sill plate or on the left side of the tongue rail. If you still can't find it, let me know and I'll give you pictures of where to look.
Jon
