Hello

Hello to all. I have recently purchased a 1990 Sunline T-243. I have 77 acres In the Laurel Highlands of southwestern PA. This past November I had a road cut a little bit more than a quarter mile through the woods up the mountain to the open acreage up top. This spring I will be pulling the camper up there using a track piece of earth moving equipment with a fork attachment with a tow ball. The only thing up there now are great views and lots of wildlife.

I am looking for a Dometic RM2510 to replace the fridge that is in there now. The original Dometic RM2501 quit working and the previous owner replaced it with a 120 volt only fridge. There is no electricity up there so a propane fridge would be better than just keeping the current fridge cold by putting ice in it. My understanding is that the RM2501 has been discontinued and replaced with the RM2510.

I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on the fridge or even about my 77 acre mountain camp.

Chris

Hello and welcome to the Club. Sounds like you have a great piece of land in a great location. The rm2510 is a exact replacement with the exact dimensions. I did some looking on the internet and get ready for some sticker shock. The price range is 1100.00 to 1994.00 but that's the way it is for these fridges. The only little problem with replacement is sometimes I had to rework the gas line.

Welcome Chris,

Congrats on your new Sunny! Bummer on your fridge. By any chance is the old one still around? If the cooling coil was bad, that can be replaced with a rebuilt one for about 1/2 the cost of a new fridge. If it was the controls then we may be able to help on that too. If it was thrown out, then a new one or if by chance you can find a used one out of a wrecked camper may be an option.

Your mountain camp sound great!!! My kind of place. When we lived back in NY, one of my work buddies had a cabin up in the Catskill mountains he would invite some of us to spend the day. Guys day out.... Four wheel drive was the only way to get up there. It took a good 20 to 30 minutes to get up their jumping rocks and wash outs. It was in the heart of the mountains with literally nothing around it. A very unique property. He has the cabin setup well, fireplace, running water down hill from the stream, in a 2 room cabin made from trees near the site. Solid 8 to 10" walls. LP gas lamps, no electric, gas stove and gas fridge. You could spend a lot of time there and he and his family did.

Some time when you can, if you have any pics of those beautiful views be greatly appreciated in seeing them.

Good luck with the fridge, if you need any help on the camper this is the place. We have a good group of folks who can help with most anything. Just ask.

Thanks

John
