Smile Happy Camper

Hi my name is Michael, my wife and I decided back in 2009 when I miraculously survived Pancreatic Cancer that we were going to get us a camper and enjoy life a little better, however in May of 2010 complications from the Pancreatic Cancer surgery caused me to have a lower bowel strangulation, what a nightmare thought I wasn't going to survive that!! So that slowed our camping trips down. Our first camper was a 2004 Funfinder, small 19 ft, but very well designed, however after a couple of trips, we decided we need a little bit bigger camper, so we bought the Sunline T-2363 Solaris lite model. We are very happy with the camper, perfect size. If we decide to take one of the grandkids no problem. Looking forward to this years trips, we have planned our first trip this year to Edisto Beach State Park SC. I will post pics. We have also visited several other parks in SC Florida and Alabama. I have lots of pics from these parks, if you are planning to visit some of these parks I would be glad to tell you of my experiences with them. We have camped several primitive sites to, a generator and a long extension cord works great.
These are the State Parks we camped with the RV.

St. Andrews State Park , Grayton Beach State Park both Florida panhandle.
Gulf Shores State Park Gulf Sores AL.
Huntington Beach State Park SC. so far our best choice for all around camping experience.

Welcome Dave and Michael. Glad to meet you. Michael, we too just purchased a T-2363 last fall. Our 3rd Sunline. Haven't gone camping in her yet but I love the space. Our first trip will be mid May. Glad you are doing well. Enjoy the season!

Thumbs up

Thank you janepete,

You will enjoy the camper, we too are planning a trip May 9th. Can't wait just hope the price of gas keeps going down or at least stay the same. I use a Dodge Ram to pull camper, not very good fuel mileage, the truck does have a hemi and that seems to help, plenty of power, however when I get a new vehicle it will be a 4x4 as we have been some places that are a little tricky to get around without 4 wheel drive. Gas prices have also slowed down are camping trips.

Hi Jane and Pete,

My call is K3VDT. Sadly, I haven't been very active the last several years. Once in a while I like to get on 40 and 10. Occasionally, I check into ECARS on 7.255. When I'm on, I like to ragchew. Mostly operate phone. I haven't used CW in a long time. I've been licensed 50 years, but like I said, I'm not very active. I do like to take a rig along when Nancy and I are camping. I'm usually on 40 with a ham stick or dipole if I can find trees in the right locations.

Take care and happy camping and radio operating!

73, ( for non-hams who are reading , 73 is ham speak for best wishes)

Paul
