Excited first time owner!
My name is Jayne and my partner in crime is John. We will be purchasing a 1986 Sunline Saturn tomorrow! I have never owned a camper before (John has) so I am beyond excited! It seems in pretty good condition and has all the original paperwork and manuals with it. Needs a little work but overall looks to be in condition. Wish me luck!

Welcome and congrats! We are new to owning as well, but we have camped in the past. I'm finding that there's a wealth of info on this site, enjoy all the reading. Be sure to post up some pics when you get all settled in!

Thanks for making me feel welcome. I have also camped a lot in the past in tents. Anything I need to know or suggestions for first time trailer camping? Anything you guys wish you had known or thought to take to make life easier?

How exciting! You don't find '80s Sunlines in decent condition anymore, unless they've been stored out of the elements, or completely rebuilt. The paperwork is even better, and a must have for me.

East Tenn, prior 86
..J ,: WELCOME, we are in east Tenn, just south of Dayton, in Sale creek.
Had a 86 model last year... I looked up the brochures for Saturn as you did not say the length of your find.?. That series was 13 ft to 17 ft..... Here is a pic
of our interior which was quite nice / colorful with the wallpaper.

My camper is listed on the title as 15 ft. When we measured it, that 15ft included the tongue. Yours seems much larger. I will have some pics in a couple days. It has one bad spot in a corner that needs work from a previous leak that has since been repaired. The curtains are rotten, but all in all its seems in awesome shape.

Yep, you have an '86 T-1550 Saturn. I had one just like it, and it probably came from the same dealer yours did, it had that same sticker.

Just got it home yesterday and so happy with it. It took me a minute to figure out how to post pictures. It has had a leak in the past in one of the corners to the right of the door but it has since been repaired. The damage inside is still there though. My dad or John will be hopefully repairing it soon. Not bad enough to stop us from using it though. I think I will have a campover this weekend in the driveway with the nieces to try it out. Do you know what a shub shower door is and is it something that would be good for this model. The shower curtain is so old that I am afraid it will crumble if I touch it. Some of the curtains are in pretty bad shape also.

No, a Shub shower door won't work for this- it requires a shower surround built in. Your best bet is to just replace the shower curtain- it should be a standard one. Just lay the old one out on the ground and get a dimension. Might have to trim it a little on the bottom, but I doubt it. You have what's called a wet bath, and you rely on the shower curtain to keep things dry. Make sure to open up the roof vent when taking a shower, to let the humidity out.
The curtains are all hung on metal S hook things, so you can take them off, take the curtain hooks out, and wash them in your washing machine. I'd make sure to do a light cycle though, and probably with just warm water too, to be safe. They should come out looking/feeling lots better.

CONGRATS, Nice interior
,,J, CONGRATS,, nice interior , that is the same patterns we had in our 18 ft. Bath , lily pad wet land effect ,, and the Wild Strawberry , poetry word pattern in the kitchen.... Curtains will fade / weather if exposed to the sunlight shining in the windows.... The exterior graphics stripes look very nice.. We had a sit down shower tub in our bath..... Most owners usually use the campground facility's as they feel they are paying for the utilities.....Here is a pic of our
exterior as they are quite rare being set-up for a truck bed and called a GOOSE-NECK design.... 2 5/16 BALL inside the bed..... Bigger ones are 5th wheel style, but those use a large PLATE / kingpin in the truck bed. SunLine make a 21 ft and 23 ft dual axle I believe. YES, Photos are a tad tricky to post.. Hope your roll out awning is in working condition.. We had to replace most of the roof vent / weather plastic covers & Caulk.

Rear Escape window,/ Pedistle table
..J : Here is a nifty pic I found showing the center part of the Rear window that
does remove as a extra fire escape mode, or Pass thru Food court. !!
Also on your pics I see the dinette table is still original with the swing down / lift up wall bracket.... Our prior owner switched over to a single Aluminum pedistle post for support.. This gives the option to use the table surface outside. or #2 as more leg room in morning ( Just juice and doughnut ) , or evening TV viewing with just a smaller TV end stand table option.. The 2nd SUNLINE white to left was a 1979 15 ft we found locally and only had a toilet in the door room....I see your rear pics have shorter two row of glass window...

"I think I will have a campover this weekend in the driveway with the nieces to try it out".jrcamp Monica and I did the same thing. We learned a lot in the drive way checking everything out and trying out all the equipment. Better to experiment in the driveway then at the campground.

Your camper really looks neat! I would love to see pictures of the inside if you don't mind.

That pedistool table idea sounds great. Do you have any photos of it installed inside. I find that trying to get in and out of the dinette on the left side is almost impossible. Does it give it more room to maneuver around?
