1996 sunline solaris

So Ive been busy finding lots of repairs needed to my sunny. The back floors under the water heater and furnace were gone. I removed all flooring in the utility area and bathroom, installed new stringers New plywood Shored up some framing and I then put the furnace and water heater back in, and a new 301 toilet. All the walls where painted a baby blue so i painted all walls and ceilings. New led lights really brightened things up. I now hooked up water to the hose inlet and ran water through the system and the tanks and valves are leaking. I need to decode my vin as i think it is a 27 foot and then start looking to find tanks and parts. Did this model come with a seperate gray and black water tank? I know there are 2 tanks underneath and Im assuming the forward is fresh water. Thanks for reading, I was a building contractor and now in facility maintenance , have restored muscle cars and boats so Im hoping I can get my Sunny back in shape . Unlike the previous owners I take the time to do it right.

Hi triton

Welcome!

Sounds like you have a project well underway.

If you are sure you camper is a 1996 model, you can back into a model number by looking at the floor plans in our brochures in our files section.

To help you find the model, we have copies of the Sales brochures for most of the Sunlines starting from 1973 and forward. To help you back into a model number, you can skim over the 1996 brochure and match up the floor plan to the model number. The length of the camper in the brochure is from the tow ball coupler to the rear bumper. If that does not seem to work, post pictures of each outside of the camper and we can help back into it.

In our "FILES" section we have lots of info on Sunlines, you can find a lot of info there and a manual. To get to the FILES section, look at the top of the forum for the words "FILES" that is a clickable tab, click it.

Once in the files section, look for "Brochures" go in there and scroll to 1986 and download a copy of the sales brochure. And have a look around in the other categories.

Any and all questions are welcome. Pictures, also helps show us what you need help with. Posting them with your question really helps if you do not know what something is called. And we can see what it is you are talking about.

Hope this helps

John

There are 3 tanks on a 1996 Sunline.

Under the camper, there are 2, black ABS plastic tanks. One black tank under the toilet, and one grey water tank for the sinks and shower. These tanks have black hard pipe 3" or 1 1/2" ABS plastic pipes connected to a common 3" dump pipe hook up. Each should have a slider style dump valve.

A third tank is translucent white, polyethene fresh water tank. Pending the model/year, the fresh tank is under the camper or inside under a bed or cabinet. This fresh tank has hoses connected to it, one larger one to fill it the tank with water and a 1/2" ID one for water pump suction and a tank drain.

Tell us or show us with pics what is leaking on your black or grey water tanks? Most all times those tanks/piping can be repaired and we can help with how to once we see what you are up against.

Hope this helps

John

t2670

Thanks John B
. Model is t2670. I will post some pics as I create a file for the trailer. I am going to crawl under today to check things out. The black tank has some sort of tape around exit of tank so im assuming it must have been hit and cracked at the tank. All the support straps are gone .
