1985 Sunline Saturn

Hi All:
Late last summer my wife and I ought our 15footer.
I retired about 2 years ago and we both like to travel and camp, except during rotten, lousy, yucky weather

this is our second travel trailer s our first was a 1973 17ft Glenelle

While this trailer might seem old to many, it's small and suites our needs as it is light weight

AC, w/heater, furnace, 2way fridge, stove and oven bathroom w/shower, AC inverter, Hot water heater, fresh water tank, plus grey and black. AC/DC lights all over.

It's really hard to believe how this smaller 15footer has all the amenities.
We bought a small trailer for the obvious reason of being able to go almost anywhere, any time. At 1,750LB dry and with today's gas prices it's easier to deal with. WE found that motels are too expensive and your confined plus any other reason you can come up with.

Our 15footer had a few small issues but we knew that when we bought it. Coming from a technical background it was hard to fix and replace needed things.
I have replaced all the interior lights to OEM most of the exterior plastic utility trim vent caps etc.. All new LED lights, brakes and bearings, all tires are new using trailer tires.
Later last fall I R&R the front window and interior wall that rotted over time by a long term water leak. The hardest part was finding the proper wood grain design for paneling that sort of match the era correct interior. Since most of that paneling is obsolete thank you Home Depot for having exactly what I needed. I'll post a picture once the weather clears up (rotten, lousy, yucky rain)

Hi Jerry,

Welcome to Sunline Owners Club! Glad you found us and congrats on your Sunline.

Your comment about finding paneling...yes that is a tuffy now a days. Every time I go into a lumber yard/home center I keep an eye out for wall paneling in the event I need to find some.

We are in heavy rain, wet, yuk, mud, thunderstorm, even mini tornadoes now too. The Sunshine cannot come back soon enough…

We look forward to seeing and hearing about your Sunline adventures. We like pics!

John

We have a 1988 T-1350 (13.5') Saturn, and yes its features and use of space are impressive. Ours has all the amenities, too - furnace, A/C, fridge, microwave, TV/DVD/AM/FM, bathroom w/shower (no tub), 3 burner stove top, potable water tank, black and grey tanks - the whole 9 yards. We just added an amplified Jack antenna to it so we can keep track of weather situations while we're out. (The original refrigerator was replaced by the previous owner with an apartment fridge and small microwave.)

If there's anything you want to know, there is someone here that can help. Lots of knowledge and experience with Sunlines here.

Again, welcome! And congratulations on your "new" Sunline!

Thanks guys

I'm new to the Saturn but not new to travel trailers.
I do have a question: When this trailer was sold to me it was labeled as a 13ft and it states 13ft on the ownership/registration. But when I measured it from tongue to rear bumper it's a 15ft (-+) an inch.
I was always understood that tongue to rear bumper was the real measurement

Let me guess that's a whole other story on another thread???

Good question. Our T-1350's shell measures 11'. Haven't measured with the tongue.

I think the correct measurement is from the tongue. Our 1985 1550 is a little over 15' to the tongue, but the shell is a couple feet smaller.

We also love our little camper, perfect for two people (and the dog!) We had a leak on the front window, and now it is dry rotted in there. So a spring project is to take the window out and re-seal it. But the paneling is shot. Luckily, there are two extra pieces of matching paneling, used as support boards under the mattresses of the two top bunks. We don't use these bunks anyway except to store stuff, as they only hold 100 lbs.

Post some pictures when you have a chance, we love pictures here.

The T-1550 is suppose to be according to specs and in some cases year also comes into play, is 15'-11" bumper to end of tongue or at least to center of ball hitch. I never measured it. If I remember I did measure the shell when I bought the unit and it was 13 ft..

J-J post pictures.
