Outlets not working.

Hi. I have a Sunline Solaris year 2000. 3 outlets not working. Outside outlet, inside by bathroom door, outlet in front bedroom. I pulled every fuse and they look ok.Could I have missed a bad fuse?
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Gregory.

Look for a GFCI that needs to be reset.

GFCI = Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. It's typically installed as the first outlet in a series. If it senses a ground fault, it will pop like a circuit breaker to protect you from electrocution. It would look something like this:

See Tin's excellent response above with pic's on "what" a GFIC is,

By your responses, the "where" is the GFIC, in case you have not sorted this out yet, start by looking in the bathroom for the GFIC in your case. There is a "test" and "reset" button on them.

A year 2000 Sunline would most likely have have 2, GFIC's. One in the kitchen area next to a faucet and one in the bathroom next to a faucet.

Sunline located these in areas where there is higher probability of water being near a 120 VAC outlet and a shock hazard exists. Since the sink is an easy place to have water next to an outlet, they mounted the main GFIC there first for that wire circuit. The way GFIC's are made, they have a downstream power feed feature (known as "load" on the GFIC), and a wire can be run to several other outlets down stream of the first one to also be protected. In some cases, there may be a small sticker that says (GFIC protected) next to an ordinary wall outlet indicating that downstream GFIC is protected by some other upstream GFIC located somewhere else. I have seen those stickers on some Sunlines, but not every one.

Your question is a popular one. I went into a little more explanation so we can link other folks back to this one as it tells the story that fits most all Sunlines that have a GFIC in them. I'm not sure what model year these become an electrical code requirement, I'm thinking somewhere in the late 70's, but I'm not sure. Houses have this same requirement and the places within the house have become more and more as the years went by. And GFIC's have evolved since the early ones. The older ones do go bad every now and then and will not reset or work as they should. In that case, replacement is the only fix. A year 2000 camper is on an older style one compared to a brand new one you can buy at the local lumber yard.

Hope this helps

John
