New 289SR Manual crank fitting

I just purchased a new 2007 289SR from Stotlzfus RV in Adamstown, PA. I got a great price with many extras. I had owned a Coachman 249 QB in the past love my new Sunline, and the dealer was great to work with. I hope Sunline re-opens plant its to good a trailer to let end. I have a question about the slide room crank it is long handled and fits in under step to crank open room, I however can not get the crank to fit on the nut it has a cotter pin on it (nut), can anyone give me any insight. I had removed the cotter pin and it looks like you may need to use a ratchet with the handle ??? [/code]

You brought up a good question. If it was light out and not raining I would like to see if I can get mine to work using the manual tool and if a rachet is needed.

I recently purchased a 289SR also and never tried the manual crank for the slide out. It was unbearably windy that day (Dec 1st) and all that was on my mind at the time was getting it 300 miles home safely. There were some scary moments but we made it. It's in storage now so the next time I'm there I'll check out the slide crank.
