It's ours!
After having to spend only 5.5 hours at the dealer today, we're now the proud new owners of "Sunny 14"!!!!! We only took a few pics today..
#1: Bonnie's first Slide room...
#2: Backing it in, to get the new tires put on. We found out, that the tires on it were dated 2002 so Bonnie ordered new ones.
#3: In the bay, getting the dual cams installed..
#4: Our service tech, Dave. He seemed to know his stuff...
#5: Bonnie checking up on him, to make sure he knew what he was doing!
#6: With the dual cams being installed, the break away switch had to be moved. Here's Dave and I, getting it mounted at it's new location.
#7: For Sunline Fan and JohnB:
#8: ALL hooked up and set up!!! Ready to go!!
#9: Within 3 miles of the dealer's lot, we put the rig on a scale.... ESPECIALLY for JohnB!! Here ya go, my friend!
It's late, so I'll let Kitty tell the whole story of our day some time tomorrow.. Plus, it's "Camp Driveway" tonight!!

Kitty and Gary
WOW!!! That is one nice looking rig!!!!
And you even scaled it on the way home. Double WOW.
H’mm OK the brain is already running…. Here last summer Kittys F350 weighed 8,400# on the truck. But that was before the aux diesel tank. Ok how many gallons extra is that tank and was it full? We can back into a TT GVW and a guestimate on the tongue
http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/ph...eights&start=0
This much we know. The Kitty mobile use to have a GCW of 14,490# with the T2499 and no aux fuel tank. Now she has upgraded to 16,180# GCW and no stuff yet and an aux fuel tank. The prediction is once filled you be in the 17,380# range GCW... less power tools....
OK what does the weight sticker inside say?
Boy that is one sharp looking camper and truck.
Super congrats!!!
John

Kitty & Gary,
Beautiful coach! It looks like it's meant for the truck, much more than a 2499.
Happy travels!

Wow...how exciting!! Congrats.
BTW - Were you coming through the Hagerstown area on I-81 around 5:30pm? I was on the northbound side and think I saw you heading south! I remember seeing the newer Sunline with bunks. Well anyway...have fun!

Here's the info, from the weight sticker...
GVWR: 10,000
Minus UVW: 6,752
Minus fresh water weight of 32 gallons @ 8.3 per: 266
Minus LP gas weight of 15 gallons @4.5 per: 68
CCC for this trailer: 2,914
With the scale weight of 6,420 at the axles, that means we only had 332lbs on the tongue I think we need to re-asses the WD....

Hey JohnB,
Yep last year when I scaled my truck it had the diamond plate cross bed tool box, fuel tank of fuel (26 gal), and myself and 2 friend onboard. It weighed 8400#'s.
My truck info is: GVWR 11,400 lbs
FT GAWR 5,600 lbs
RR GAWR 7,000 lbs
Yesterday the truck contained Gary & I, the same tool box, approx 28 - 30 gal of fuel in toe aux tank, and approx 23 gal in the factory fuel tank. OH, it did have 5 tires in the bed, 1 rim and a spare carrier for the trailer, the hinged propane tank cover and I think that's it (unless Gary stuck more in there) I HAD NO TOOLS in there !!!!!!!
Maybe when Gary gets home, we'll run the truck to the scales this evening.
Kitty
PP SS: This thing is a huge MONSTER, and I'm pretty tired so, can you believe this I haven't even put one thing in it
I had a greyhound "meet n greet" to do today, so that kept me from working in "Sunny 14"
Gary did get it stabalized better today(it's rock solid now), as it's sitting in the front yard, not it's normal resting spot and we now do have 110ac run to it temporarily
Kitty.

No, not exactly like that. Tongue weigth does not change with WD. Actually the loading on the A frame goes up not down.
The Axle on your TT could gain approx 200# from the WD effects of taking weight off the rear Axle of the truck. TT axles weight with WD engaged adds a % of the WD transfer off the rear alxe.
We really need a few more weigths yet to figure out what the trailer is and after you load it, it will go up again. It only goes up from here....
John
Do you have any fender height numbers before and after WD engaged?

H'mm. I see we have not had the 1 ton WD setup discussion on here yet. I learned some new things about 2 stage 1 ton suspension. The helper springs add another diminsion to WD settings.
Once you get the camper loaded and get to doing some more scaled weights, let's talk on some optimization things. The front axle numbers Kitty reported would be golden on a 3/4 ton or 1/2 ton and whree where I was for about 8 months until I figuire out the Ford 1 ton rear suspension. There are options for heavy tongues on 1 tons that ride soother and actually feel more stable left to right in the truck. That will be a post in itself.
When you get to the point of loaded, and ready to head to the scales, lets talk about a few quicks settings you can do at the scales and then we can sort the rest out later at home. And see which tows better.
Now that I see the weigth sticker.... something sticks out. That changed between 2003 and 2004 models. And then there is that 400# difference of what ever Sunline did between 2003 and 2004.
Here is Kitty's
Here is mine.
OK what lookls different and it's not the UVW.
So how was the camput last night? I know we have gone out to the camper and had dinner before. Could not make it out to the CG, so that was next best...
John

Good Morning SOC ,
Well, I haven't gotten a chance to take any "good" interior pictures, but WOW, it's huge inside :P
I'll try to get some good pictures today. I am "planning/hoping" to get started with moving "stuff" back in. But, that also comes with decisions, like WHAT do I REALLY NEED to put back in, and what is just excessive. Hum, did I just say I "might" have been excessive
OK, on to answer JohnBs' question about our first night in the 320. We purchased the trailer a good 2 hours from home, it had been a VERY VERY long day, we were already extremely tired before we even started to drive home, needed something to eat, so while we stopped at the scales close to the dealer, we then did ole MickeyD's for something to eat, then headed home. Did I mention we were very tired, but we were happy as could be, but tired. Knew we wanted to spend the night in the 320, so what do we do, what else, a stop at ole' Wally World where I pick up a comforter set & 2 pillows, that solved the problem of me finding bedding that I piled, err "placed" in the shed . OK, now we have stuff to make up the bed for the night, great, lets just get home, park it, hook up the electric and call it a night. OK, now the rains started , and at times it really poured , and way too many idiots drive entirely too fast in the rain , especially near our rig. OK, yeah, finally home in the long driveway, BUT the monster 320 will not fit in Sunnys' rvport so that parking spot was not usable, so a new temporary parking place was needed. Tried another one, naw that's not gonna work, how about this one, nope, it's got "such & such issue" , ok, how about we try this?, no it's got that other problem . We were so tired we were getting silly, so we turned off the fridge, and pulled the rig in as far as we could get the truck UP hill on the driveway, still pouring down rain, and said, that's it, too tired to do anymore thinking or jocking around we turned the truck off (it was nosed into the bushes on the embankment) FINALLY . Hooked up some power, looked for the slide button, I extended ithe slide while Gary watched outside Great now we can get to the bed, pulled the new bedding outta the bag, got the bed made quickly, sat at the dinette, just looking around, saying how beautiful it was. Called my girlfriend from NJ who was next door at sons (her & her mom were visiting, they are future inlaws & life time friends). They came over in the pouring down rain for a "tour" They left, we sat & admired it some more, and then finally decided we needed to get some sleep. OK, we looked at the bed, and the head of it was quite elevated , so too tired to do anymore leveling, that's how we slept on it We both slept great, that pillow top mattress is very comfortable, the elevated orientation is not something I want to do on a regular basis . But, next thing I know it was morning, and back to jocking 320 around in the yard til we could get it level, I had to leave to go do my greyhound "meet n greet", Gary took care of things while I was gone, and I came back to a nicely leveled, stablized, electrically powered 320. But, the yard is very wet, so we tried to limit trips in & out. It's now monday morning, and the sun is shining , so hopefully the yard will dry up (light sage green carpet will not fair well with mud" ). I called last night to hopefully get a load of stone delivered today, so Gary can bring the dozer home and make a nice new parking location for 320. MY mission for the day, "should I choose to accept it, is to start to "load" 320. Hey, maybe I better do it quickly since Gary is at work
Sorry to be so long winded, but it was so exciting, even with the long day, being so tired, hungry, the horrible rain, the mud, the unlevel parking, but it'll be "OK" as Gary always tells me.
He really does spoil me :P

A test.... well a little. Actually I did not notice the propane... . Odd the weight of propane/gallon actually is listed lower in 2004 then in 2003??? I saw 15 gallons and knew that was 30# LP tanks so I read right by it.
OK I'll give some hints. It deals with the water. And no, in 2003 water still weighs 8.3#/gallon like it does in 2004
