Clicking Sound

We picked up our Sunline (286) the week before Easter and used it for a few nights. I think I remember the slide room making a clicking noise both when I put it out (fully extended) and when I brought it in (fully retracted).

Now, it is only making the clicking noise once it is fully extended. It just comes to a quiet stop when I retract it.

So... is my memory incorrect? Should it make a clicking noise once it is fully retracted? Do I need to be concerned at all?

Thanks in advance for giving me "peace of mind",

Doug

Hi Doug,

I don't think you have anything to be concerned about, it's exactly how our TT works when extending and retracting the slide. We have a T-280SR.

We get the clicking noise when the slide gets fully extended. And no clicking noise when it gets fully retracted.

I'm sure someone here can give you a more technical reason for why, but I believe the slide mechanism is a rack & pinion and the clicking noise you hear is due to the mechanism reaching it's maximum length and a safety / release feature so it doesn't get over extended. I'm guessing it's the gears still turning but not catching.

Our slide is the same. Clicks when opening and quietly stops when closing

Doug,

Goodmorning!
Your memory serves you well. Our 264SR clicks on both the extention and retraction. The dealer made sure we understood this was a normal opperation.
I hope this helps.

Mike
